Lets say that the draft works out as Walterfootball projects.
Who would you select if you were the GM?
1. Carolina: QB Andrew Luck [Stanford]
2. Cincinnati: DE D'Qwaun Bowers [Clemson]
3. Detroit: Patrick Peterson [LSU]
4. Buffalo: DE/DT Marcel Darius [Alabama]
5. Arizona: QB Ryan Mallett [Arkansas]
6. San Francisco: CB Prince Akuamamura [Nebraska]
7. Cleveland: WR AJ Green [Georgia]
8. Dallas: DE/DT Nick Fairley [Auburn]
9. Denver: DE/DT Allen Bailey [Miami]
10. Minnesota: QB Jake Locker [Washington]
11. St. Louis: DE Robert Quinn [North Carolina]
12. Houston: CB Jannoris James [Florida]
13. San Diego: DE Adrian Clayborn [Iowa]
14. New England [Oak]: RB Mark Ingram [Alabama]
15. Tennessee Titans: DT Drake Nevis [LSU]
16. Washington: WR Julio Jones [Alabama]
17. Miami: CB Brandon Harris [Miami]
18. Jacksonville: DE Ryan Kerrigan [Purdue]
19. Tampa Bay: OT Anthony Costanzo [Boston College]
20. New York Giants: LB Travis Lewis [OU]
21. Chicago Bears:
Who do you select?
-
-
OG Mike Pouncey [Florida] 6'4" 315lbs.
I know he has been bad at C, but he is a physical and athletic OG that can run and pass protect. He could come in and start at RG or LG depending on need.

I really don't like to think about the draft during the season, especially when we're in the middle of a championship race.

Didn't Carolina just take that qb from ND last year? They really thinking their giving up on hims after 1 year?

I thought you had some good points in your last mock draft Windy. We desperately need OL help, I just don't know if we will draft one though.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

just cause we desperatly need oline doesnt mean you just grab anyone and say hey look we got a new olineman!!!! We did that with Chris Williams just to get someone and that sure didnt work. If there is better talent available and it isnt on the oline rather draft the better talent

Agree, but there are a few decent OL in the draft and I don't wish to see us draft another seventh rounder to find trash can gold.

ding
that is why a modified BPA is the way to go
like I said in another thread, in the 1st round, IMO, we should take the BPA amongst OG, OT, C, CB, and DT... I would add that is a really special talent is hanging out there at WR or MLB, I'd probably pull the trigger on them as well

I didn't make this, but I likes it alot
1st Round -
Joseph Barksdale, OT, LSU - Scouting Report
Height: 6-5. Weight: 315.
Projected 40 Time: 4.90.
Projected Round (2011): 1-2.
10/2/10: Barksdale isn't getting the national recognition he deserves. He is by far the best technician in his draft class. He has elite knee bend, has textbook hand use, and displays nice patience in pass protection. He's a very athletic, talented player who will eventually be climbing 2011 NFL Draft boards.
4/3/10: Could be the first left tackle chosen in the 2011 NFL Draft. Joseph Barksdale is a very athletic lineman who had a great year with LSU. He'll move over to the blind side in 2010.
2nd Round -
Curtis Brown, CB, Texas
Height: 6-0. Weight: 180.
Projected 40 Time: 4.37.
Projected Round (2011): 2.
10/9/10: Brown is a very talented player who is not afraid to come up and hit someone. You have to love the way he plays the game and he'll get drafted in the top 60 picks.
5/13/10: Curtis Brown, an All-Big XII honorable mention, broke up seven passes in 2009. He has the best triangle numbers of any top corner eligible for the 2011 NFL Draft.
Round 3 -
Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina
Height: 6-3. Weight: 305.
Projected 40 Time: 4.88.
Projected Round (2011): 2-4.
10/8/10: Austin has been suspended indefinitely by head coach Butch Davis, and this is unrelated to the NCAA investigation of the North Carolina football team. Pictures and information have surfaced and there is now a mountain of character concerns surrounding Austin. Some team might take a gamble on Austin's talent in the early rounds, but there is also the chance that 75 percent of the league removes him from their 2011 NFL Draft Boards.
5/6/10: This year's Carlos Dunlap finished his junior year with six TFL and four sacks
Round 4 -
Kristofer O'Dowd, C, USC
Height: 6-5. Weight: 298.
Projected 40 Time: 5.07.
Projected Round (2011): 2-4.
10/2/10: O'Dowd is an extremely strong center who can maul in the run game, but the medical could really hurt his draft stock.
4/4/10: Was a first-team All-Pac Team member despite the fact that he was playing with a torn labrum in 2009.
Round 5 -
Terrance Toliver, WR, LSU
Height: 6-5. Weight: 206.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Projected Round (2011): 4-6.
3/31/10: Terrance Toliver really improved as a junior, catching 53 passes for 735 yards and three scores.
Round 6 -
Mario Harvey, ILB, Marshall
Height: 6-0. Weight: 244.
Projected 40 Time: 4.81.
Projected Round (2011): 4-6.
10/9/10: Harvey has been getting a lot of hype this season for his play and rightfully so. He's outstanding in run support as a sure tackler and being able to shed blockers at will.
5/12/10: Mario Harvey has a knack for getting to the quarterback; as a junior, he had 117 tackles, 8.5 TFL and seven sacks, earning All-Conference USA First Team honors.

With that board, it's a tough trio of OL between Wiz, Sherrod and Pouncey. Sherrod has the biggest upside of the, Pouncey is probably the safest choice and Wiz is the best player at our biggest position of need, IMHO, in C. OT goes deeper with some real upside sitting 30-60 even without underclassmen, C has only Wiz and O'Dowd as sure entries at this point, and OG is basically Cannon and Pouncey. It's hard to pass on Sherrod because he is playing as well any OL this year, is medically clean and has some amazing feet. Kick him inside if Webb and the left side settles in, if not, he's your LT. I still think CWill should be at LT and OMH back to RT, but Webb certainly has some rare tools that deserve an extended look provided he's not costing us ballgames. Then again, the drop in talent from 1-2 at C and OG is vastly more significant than OT. I'd flip a coin on Wiz or Sherrod.
