The refs gave you a gift against Detroit. If you guys beat the Pats and Jets when they are at full health (the Pack did this to the Jets coming off a bye week.....on the road....you have both at home), then I'll believe you guys are for real. Until then, you've gotten pretty darn lucky with timing. The NFL is about breaks and you've taken adavantage of them but let's talk if the Bears make it through December. I predict 1-3 coming up at best. You beat my Packers true (with the help of 18 penalties and atrocious coaching by our head coach) but we'll see what happens come January in Lambeau.

Not bitter...Yes the Packers lost to a good Atlanta team. I'm overly critical of the Packers. They are not Super Bowl contenders. No run game. But to think the Bears are a "real" team is funny. You have no Offensive Line and no receivers when you play a team that has top caliber secondary. But that's fine. Call me pathetic and bitter if you will. Tom Waddle is smart enough to see the Bears for what they are....opportunistic. That only lasts for so long against ailing and sub par teams. Gloat now but we'll see how your boys pan out in December. Remember...the Packers beat the Eagles too....and the Jets. Will you be able to do the same when they roll in to town? I doubt it....but hey, you guys think Cutler is the second coming of Montana and Knox is Rice reincarnated so enjoy your delusions. I'll just say I told you so now so I won't have to later.

All due respect to you (as we love our rival fans) and to Tom Waddle (who has probably suffered more concussions than anyone else in football) but the Bears have earned some respect that will not come.
No one said Cutler was the second coming of Montana, not sure where you got that. We are just enjoying him because he is the best QB the Bears have had in about 50 years. Tallest midget, yeah I know. No one said Knox was Rice reincarnated either. Not sure where you are getting this stuff. He had a good game, are we not supposed to enjoy it?

By all means....enjoy the victories. They are hard to come by in the NFL. All I'm saying is that take them in to context. Playing against a 3rd string QB and CB does make a difference. A win is a win but don't read too much in to it. The Pack beating Dallas.....whatever. They laid down for Phillips. Now...their close loss to Atlanta.....that means something....yet it is still a loss. I was a little over the top with the Cutler and Knox analogies. I was just proving the point that they picked on the Eagles 3rd string corner who rarely sees the field. Kudos to them but they won't have that luxury against Revis, Tramon Williams, Charles Woodson, and the Pats....nor the Viqueens in the Humpty Dome. If the Bears can split between the Pats and the Jets I'll believe they're legit. Until then they don't scare anyone.

We are well aware of the luck we have gotten facing certain teams who have had players out, but a win is a win, and we will take them however we can get them.
While their offense may not be enough to scare anyone, I do think that their defense and special teams are dangerous and do scare teams.

Agreed with the Spec. Teams. Very good there. Defense is good. Didn't impress me against GB though. GB shot themselves in the foot with 18 penalties. We'll see how they do against NE and their spread passing game. That will be the true test of this defense. I'll give Martz credit (even though I think he's an idiot and only a slight improvement from Turner)...he's using more 3 step quick game to help Cutler. But again, how will that work against the good secondaries he will face in the next 4 games? We'll see.

First of that GB game was against a much different (and worse) Bears team than the one that's been playing the last few weeks, and second alot of those penalties were because of the way the bears were playing more so than mental mistakes by the offense. When a team has a few penalties in a game it's because a player wasn't thinking and made a mistake... When they break records for penalties in a game it has something to do with the team they are playing. Watch that game again and count how many of the penalties were a holding or false start on the o-lineman responsible for Peppers. The stats don't even come close to reflecting how much of an impact he had. I don't consider the Bears an elite team right now either, but they are playing better every week, and should now be considered very good in a league this year without any real dominant teams. But i'd put money on most analysts still having them worse than the packers and eagles this week even though they've beat both of them head to head and have a better record
