Bears fan falls to death at Soldier Field

November 28, 2010 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- A 27-year-old man died after falling from an upper area at Soldier Field during the Chicago Bears game Sunday evening.


The Chicago Fire Department said the man, who has not been identified, was in the columns area of Soldier Field, 1400 South Museum Campus Drive, when he fell 50 feet and landed on the roof. Police are investigating the circumstances of his death.


The man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition around 5 p.m. He was pronounced dead at 5:24 p.m.

Agreed, I hope this guy wasn't fooling around, drunk or not. Pretty sad.

A man in his 20s fell to his death at Soldier Field during Sunday's game between the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The fall occurred inside Soldier Field around 4:55 p.m., the Chicago Tribune reports, citing Chicago police and fire officials. Chicago Fire Department media affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said the victim fell and landed on a small rooftop on the west side of the stadium near Lake Shore Drive, the newspaper reports.
Witnesses told emergency personnel that they saw the man run up to a ledge and jump, Roccasalva said, according to the newspaper.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where he died about 30 minutes later.

More reports saying he got a running start. PCP is a helluva drug.

I'm curious about the circumstance, but if this was intentional, I honestly don't want to give this dude my time and consideration.

For me it depends on what team he was rooting for.
