LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Detroit Lions listed defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch (neck) as doubtful on the latest injury report heading into Sunday's game at Ford Field against the Chicago Bears.

A defensive captain for the Lions, and arguably the unit's most talented player, Vanden Bosch isn't likely to play based on the league's injury-reporting guidelines, which state that a designation of doubtful means there's a 75 percent chance the player won't participate.


Vanden Bosch posted 11 tackles for the Lions, including one for lost yardage, in a 19-14 season-opening loss to the Bears at Soldier Field. Vanden Bosch missed each of Detroit's practices this week, and hasn't participated in a team workout session since leaving a Thanksgiving loss to the New England Patriots with a neck injury.


In other injury news, Lions right tackle Gosder Cherilus returned to practice after missing Thursday with a knee injury and is listed as questionable. Defensive end Cliff Avril (quadriceps), running back Jahvid Best (toe), receiver Nate Burleson (hamstring), linebacker DeAndre Levy (groin), tight end Tony Scheffler (ribs), and defensive tackle Corey Williams (shoulder) are questionable.
