Trent Dilfer sucks, but may actually serve us well in the coming weeks.

Did anyone happen to watch ESPN earlier this evening? Trent Dildo made the comment that "the Bears are posers" and that we're going to have a "rough few weeks" ahead of us. He also said that our defense got exposed, and that we were getting ready to go up against some of the better coaches in the league as if insinuating that either the coaches we have faced were inferior or that our coaching staff is inferior.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Detroit play right along with New England for three quarters of the ballgame on Thanksgiving? I don't see him talking about the Patriots' defense as being vanilla, but then again, they are one of the glamor teams in the NFL, so of course he's going to hate on the teams he considers to be "The Sorry Sisters of the Poor."

Personally, while Dildo's comments on the Bears are annoying and insulting, I think they could serve as good bulletin board material for the team down the road. If they can go into next week's game with a chip on their shoulder and play as well as they possibly can, I think the Bears can go a long way toward hushing their critics, including Dildo.

And after all, as we all know, the only thing he is known for is being the lame quarterback on the Baltimore Ravens 2000 Super Bowl championship team. He was terrible as a quarterback, and he was either traded or released following that season because Brian Billick and team GM Ozzie Newsome felt that the team needed a better quarterback to direct their offense, which only averaged scoring about 20 points per game that season.

What did the Lions do today that they didn't do Week 1? If the D was exposed, they were exposed THEN. The rest of the league has had since Week 1 to take advantage of that. The result?

Bears defense ranked 4th overall. Try that on, Dilfer.

Take away the 2 plays before halftime where the Bears lost complete focus & the Lions had 210 yards & 13 points

Seriously, the defense was excellent except for 2 plays. Big deal. Shut up Trent. Has he claimed the Patriots as a Super Bowl Contender? Because if he insults our defense (AKA- The best defense in the NFL) then I'd love to know how he could defend the Patriots Defense which is 31st in YPG & 22nd in PPG

Any defense that shuts down Michael Vick & the Eagle offense deserves full 100% respect. The defense isn't something to complain about on this team

winning 5 games in a row in the NFL is no easy task...even for posers. He obviously-for whatever reason-does not like the Bears franchise. He tows the company line and praises the ESPN network teams..and the 9'ers. This team has a bullseye on them right now. Everyone wants to end the streak, especially the division rivals. Detroit of 2010 is not Detroit 2008. The D line is very good, and the D as a whole is a cornerback away from being very good. Seriously, if any offense during the win streak was gonna expose the D, it woulda been Philly. They have the guns to do it

FU Dilfer...Baltomore thought so highly of you they didn't even renew your contract after you won the super bowl.....that's a poser. Look at ESPN's lineup right now: Schlereth, Dilfer and (the other) Hasselback. that's an all star line up right there. You want unbiased coverage? go to NFL Network. The quality's better and the discussions are way more thorough and insightful

The only thing that got exposed was Dilfer's intellect.

Agreed. Michael Irvin is actually smart to listen to which is weird. He has his crazy whacked out moments, but he does think logically

Any network with Rich Eisen, Marshall Faulk & Rod Woodson as analysts is an A+. 3 of the least biased analysts that there are

Plus Deion is just plain awesomeness. He defines the definition of awesome. Mariucci is the weakest of the Gameday Final crew. He's a Favre nut hugger, so it's just annoying & he yells WAAAAAY too much

They do have that douche Michael Lombardi on the Playbook show, so that is a huge negative against them. Lombardi always complains about everything

And one more thing on Dilfer...he's bagged on this team ALL season, and last year. I live in Fresno, was at FSU when he was there and played in a golf tourney with him. He is as arrogant as it gets. There is absolutely no way he will ever admit a mistake. Praising this team is something he will never do unless the people that sign his check make him do it

A mediocre to poor QB with a career stat line that reads 113 tds and 129 interceptions should not be talking smack.....just sayin.

Cutler has only been in the league a little under 5 seasons and with his td pass today just passed Dilfer on the all time list with 114 tds.

I don't think I'd go that far.... Think of his gems as moments of clarity between cocaine benders.

Mooch can go scratch, and so can Marshall Falk. Come to think of it, keep the ladies and Rich Eisen. Scrap the rest.
