Floyd is a great football player. Doesn't have break away speed but is def. a go up and get it guy. Out muscles DBs and fights for the ball. Not putting up huge numbers this year because of shoddy QB play. He runs good routes and is great blocker. He might be staying for his senior year though. I think he would good pick for us because he would finally give us a red zone fade guy.

Possible first/2nd round selection for Bears: WR Jonathan Baldwin, Pitt, 6'4.5" 225lb
Now this is a go up and get it guy for Jay, and is great at catching those balls across the middle too. Has had a down year this season with a new QB who likes to pass to the HBs a lot so his draft stock has dropped a bit. Because of this and the resignation of Pitt's head coach it looks like he'll be declaring. http://content.usatoday.com/communit...arly-for-nfl/1

I heard Tarvaris Jackson is going to be a FA, too. He's on his way out of Minnesota, so I believe the Bears should try to sign him. He's definitely underrated and he would be a reliable backup QB.

i agree that TJax is under rated, but I think he will want to go somewhere where he can potentially compete for a starting role(althouh I'm not sure that will ever be an actual option).

Forget Ryan Harris "Windy". Even at that price he's over valued considering his injury history and I really don't think you'd get anymore out of him than you would Chris Williams or a "coached up" J'Marcus Webb. We should spend two high picks on those U of Wisconsin "roadgraders" Moffit and Carimi and sign them both for less than what Harris and Jean-Gilles would most likely cost us. If we don't get a decent running game going no matter what Martz and Culter can do we won't win a championship and those guys flat out know how to run block.
I wouldn't even think about spending a first rounder on a WR when you can get guys with his size and potential in the mid rounds of the draft. We've got much bigger needs at the top of the draft than a wideout in my opinion.
I do like your picks at Center and MLB though. No doubt we need a couple of guys we can develop into those positions. Olin Kruetz is nearing the end and I see no one on the roster that could even come close to replacing him despite the decline in his play. As for Urlacher. I think he's got at least another 3 good years in him but if his legs go and his range decreases he'll become more of a liability unless there's a wholesale change in defensive philosophy and we all know that won't happen as long as Lovies around. Personally I'd like to see a guy who's more of a Singletary type MLB rather than the hybrid MLB/Safety/Monster Backer style that Urlacher plays. One plus is that the guy from Maryland has the right last name to become a Bears MLB and if we can't pronounce it we'll just call him "Grabowski". LOL

1st round: C Mike Pouncey (Florida) 6'5'' 320 lbs.

2nd round: LB Greg Lloyd (Connecticut) 6'2'' 245 lbs.

I've been led to believe that Pouncey isn't even close to a first round talent. Am I wrong about that? Despite that I still wouldn't spend a first on a Center when there should be some decent talent in the mid rounds unless that guy was just an all time dominator both as a run blocker and a pass blocker. How may All-Pro center were actually first round picks?
The guy from UConn looks interesting though. I really haven't followed college ball that much this year so I know nothing about him but he has the size of a run stuffer. How's his speed and range?

What about an offensive guard in the first round?

He's Greg Lloyd's son. ^^
He can play LB and DE. Had a knee injury that ended his 2009 season, though.

Mike is very much "close" to a first rounder. He's in the top 3 interior guys in the draft and is looking like a 1/2 depending on who is enamored with his fantastic work ethic, attitude and intelligence.
As for Lloyd in the second, that would quite possibly be the worst reach of the decade ahead of even Mike Mitchell. Before the injury, maybe in the third, but now I wouldn't touch him inside of the first five rounds. I would blow a fucking gasket if we wasted a pick on him there.

Thanks sox! I didn't watch as much college ball this year as I did last so I never got a chance to see him play. It was just something I either heard or read and obviously it was inaccurate. With any luck he may be around when we pick because we sure need the help on the interior. Guys like him and Moffit should be major targets for us come draft time and it wouldn't be completely out of line to get both if at all possible.
It's really high time we put our Oline together out of younger draftees instead of overpriced free agents. Williams may still pan out as an OLT and I like Webb's upside as an ORT so the guard spots and center are what should get the attention. We'er far more likely to find guys at those spots if we're picking later in the rounds.
