Theraputic Mock Offseason
Free Agents
OT Ryan Harris [Denver] 4 years 20 million/ 8 guaranteed
Solid run blocking and pass blocking RT for the Broncos that has had health issues in the past. He is not elite, but he is much better than what the Bears have.

OG Max Jean-Gilles [Philadelphia] 5 years 18 million/ 7 guaranteed
He has been in an out of the line up for the Eagles, but since his return he has been a dominant physical presence. At 6’3” 358lbs. he is the physical mauler that the Bears are missing.

CB Richard Marshall [Carolina] 5 years 25 million/ 12 guaranteed
Charles Tillman is struggling to make an impact outside of the ball punch. Marshall is undersized, but packs a physical punch.

QB Billy Volek [San Diego] 2 years 3.5 million
A veteran QB with experience in the Air Coryell attack.

Draft
1[24] WR Michael Floyd [Notre Dame] 6’3” 225lbs.
The Bears have talent at WR, but they lack the big physical target that will go get the ball in traffic. Earl Bennett is an amazing slot threat that keeps the chains moving, and Johnny Knox is a great deep threat, but pays pretty soft, and Devin Hester is effective in his package. Floyd brings great size and hands to the team and can make an off target throw into a completion. I think that Martz will also like Floyd as he runs great routes. The truth of the matter is that the WR talent in this draft is far better than the OL talent.

2[56] C Stefen Wisniewski [Penn State] 6’3” 308lbs.
Wisniewski would provide the Bears with a technically sound, high character leader that can step in and run the offensive line. The Bears OL needs someone in the middle that can not only make the calls, but can block someone off the line.

3[88] DT Jarvis Jenkins [Clemson] 6’3” 315lbs.
Jenkins has the size and physical style that the Bears need as they search for a replacement at NT for Anthony Adams. Jenkins could allow Henry Melton to not take as many NT reps and move around and create mismatches.

4. OG John Moffit [Wisconsin] 6’5” 323lbs.
Like Wisniewski he is not a physical specimen, but he is physical and works hard and can bring his lunch pail style to Halas Hall.

5. LB Alex Wujciak [Maryland] 6’3” 235lbs.
Brian Urlacher has played lights out this year, but age does not stop hunting you. Wujciak is a similar athletic leader that the Bears can groom and provide depth.

6. P Chas Henry [Florida] 6’3” 215lbs.
We need someone to replace Maynard soon as much as I love 34 yard punts.

i want a delorean and a flux capacitor to go back and grab orlando pace, issac bruce, marshall faulk and the rest of the rams offensive line.

I love the fact we now have all of our draft picks going forward. Good defense, QB, RBs, best STs in the league, and lots of speed at WR .... now draft right and this team could be really, really good.

Not a Floyd fan, and seeing our CBs yesterday makes me more sure than ever that CB is our #2 need behind OL. I would be shocked if Wiz made it to the 50s, but stranger things have happened. He's only behind Brewster at the position in possible candidates right now, and there's a very big possibility and Mike doesn't declare. However, with the movement at the position to close out the season, 2-3 may very well be the target round for C. With Barnes and Kirkpatrick lingering behind the top 3, you have some actual quality depth stepping up and and becoming legit targets with workouts just around the corner.
Nice to see you give Moffitt some love, though. I was a fan before the season and he and Carimi lived up to the hyped, forming the unquestionable best run blocking left side in the nation. It doesn't hurt that he played in between Carimi and Konz, who are possibly the best at their positions in their respective classes, but he's without a doubt helping those guys keep their stock week-in and week-out. He is a real technician out there and a sure footed road grader.

He reminds me of Andre Johnson.

He's not even in the same Universe as Johnson's athleticism. Few are. I would compare him to a LaFell or Kevin Walter in that department, just behind the Marshall, Bowe and Colston group of big guys in terms of athletic ability.

the way Im seeing things the area we are weak at might be strong in FA and not in draft. Now one thing that could prevent us from shopping in FA is not knowing cap implications and we spent big last year. Usually teams skip a year after spending big. To make room for one of these good olinemen from FA I can see us trading out of the first round this draft. IDK if Im the only one but I dont like the talent there at our pick and can get the same trading out of the first. That will also free us up financially to get one oline fa(or wr)

Plus, if we trade out of the first round... with Jerry, the end game of the pick will be 2-3rd rounders, 1-4th rounder, 2-5th rounders and a 7th. So thankfully, with these picks added in, we'll reach our goal of entering next year's camp with 7 strong safeties and 10 DE's.
