Vikings may start street free agent at QB

Frazier: Vikings may have to sign quarterback to start Monday

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 14, 2010, 4:56 PM EST
The quarterback situation in Minnesota has rapidly gone from bad (Brett Favre) to worse (Tarvaris Jackson) to possibly ugly (undecided.)
Vikings interim head coach Leslie Frazier said Tuesday Jackson’s status for Monday’s game against the Bears is “in jeopardy” because of turf toe. Frazier did not sound optimistic about Jackson and mentioned Joe Webb could get first team reps on Thursday.
Frazier also said they are looking at 8 different quarterbacks outside the organization that could possibly start the game. (Florio mentioned Patrick Ramsey is one of them.)
The most optimistic part of Frazier’s press conference was surprisingly regarding Brett Favre’s status. Frazier sounded hopeful Favre could will play again, possibly this week. An ultrasound on Favre’s shoulder and neck came up negative. Injured reserve is not currently an option for Favre.

I'd still perfer to see Fav'rah over TJax. We need a few more int's to pad the turn over ratio ;)

The bottom line is if the Bears can't go to MN and take care of business with any of those clowns at QB, then they don't deserve to be a playoff team.

Am I the only one that finds it funny that 2 streaks ended last night? Favre's at 297, and TJack's at 1.

This is great news for the Bears and should make the game easier. But as someone said nothing is a given in the NFL and the defense still looks alright.

I do not know what to make of this, but we need a bounce back game and we need to step up and put the Vikings ship under water for good.

Trust me the Patriots are going to handle their business.

No matter which of the possible 11 QBs start... I think it adds up to a pick-6 for Da Bears!

I'm thinking that unless Favre can't even lift his arm over his shoulder he'll be the starter on Monday night. Then it's up to Peppers or Izzy to see to it that it doesn't stay that way for long.

I always thought they should have kept Sage Rosenfelds. He seemed decent or at least better than our back up bum. I bet Favre has helped axe a few up and coming qb's in his time to keep the competition down.
