By my standards not yet. One NFL record though very impressive doesn't guarantee HOF to me without more all around performance. Does the Vikings Adrian Peterson deserve the HOF for his first year rushing records? Not to me. As said previously Dent certainly deserves it more than Hester as of now. Yes I know many players of less talent are in and that has tarnished the hall IMO. However Hester IS well on his way to the HOF.
Lets concentrate on our 2nd Lombardi trophy first!!!!!!
10-7-07 Bears 27,Fudge Packers 20...12-23-07 Bears 35,Fudge Packers 7 Then Favre quit and became a Jet...

Lol, everyday i see this thread, the vote is ALWAYS 50/50. If us bears fans cant even come to a consensus, what do you think the media voters with their anti-Bears sentiment will think?

He isn't a HOF'er just yet ..... let him get a few more going to the house and it will be hard for them to deny him.

I would like to see Hester focus more on his receiving game and become more accessible as a slot man. If he can gain a load of yards per season doing that on top of his kick returns, I think anything can happen.

I agree Dagan, I just wish they had tried to make him a slot guy from the beggining instead of a 1 or 2. he has such a natural talent behind the LB's and in that space; but he's limited in his ability to catch b/c he has to turn his body to see it coming to him.

When I think of Devin Hester and what he is capable of doing, I see him being a lot like an Anthony Gonzalez of the Indianapolis Colts. Gonzalez is a solid slot receiver who is capable of busting a short to intermediate pass play into something with bigger yardage behind it. The thing is, is Hester and Gonzalez are both at or near the 6'0" tall range, though I think Gonzalez is bulkier. Hester is so fast that he could add a Wes Welker or Deion Branch element to the Bears' passing attack. What we need is to utilize Johnny Knox more in deep routes like we did on Monday night.

I don't understand alot of what the HOF committee does --- in some cases I wonder if those people even watch the games.
I think there's as much lobbying and "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" as there is in politics.
Andre Tippett was NOT a better player than Richard Dent, and I still lose sleep over that snub, which I believe boils down to the committee refusing to allow a 4th member of a team that only won 1 SB into the hall, regardless of merit.
I don't agree...if he gets even close to 20 he's in for sure. maybe not 1st ballot but he'll get in. Getting over 20 returns will be a record that will stand til my grandkids are born and become Bears fans...a record like that can't be over looked
