There are reasons to want a coach gone. There are reasonable reasons to want a coach gone. In Chicago, it is his personality. All other things stem from this. I find that to be the stupidist thing I have ever heard, no offense to anyone who has problems with his personality. I am not saying that you are stupid for not liking his personality, I totally get that part.
In 7 years, we have won 3 division titles with a Superbowl appearance. Lovie is FAR, SO FAR from the worst coach. The Players love this guy. How ever you spin that, they are playing hard for him. YOu can spin that negatively, I guess if you try hard, but until the team quits on him, it makes no sense to me to hold that up as a reason to hate on him.
He has a winning record, he has goals, motivates players and has taken 3 other HC's and turned them into the most dynamic coaching staff we have ever had. He does this all while keeping his cool, under great pressure and not only has won, but has done so while EVERYONE in football, did not believe they could. That to me, is the sign of a GREAT coach, not a bad one. Is he perfect?? Hell no. But, he is a BEAR, through and through and most of you that want him gone ought to take a real inventory of what you want in a coach. If a hot yelling personality does it for you, then I suggest becoming Jets fans or something.
reasons to support Lovie
1) He has won in the past and he is winning now
2) He has beaten the packers, repeatedly
3) He understands the Bears history, respects it, upholds it and promotes it
4) The players love, respect and play for him
5) We are NFCN Dvision champions with a shot at a #2 seed and a guaranteed #3 seed, when we all would have taken #6 as success this season
6) His name is LOVIE in the NFL for corn's sake!!!!!

I agree wanting him gone just because of his personality is stupid...
And wanting him gone in spite of this season and his overall record is equally stupit imo...
And just for the record, I don't fall into either of those categories...I completely disagree with the OP and I do support Lovie remaining the Bear's Coach...I may always have a love/hate relationship with Lovie, but if he keeps winning, I will learn to live with it

Reductio ad absurdum...it's how we roll...

A Super Bowl will cure what ails ya...but I too am not a fan.
Take away Martz, and I'm sure he'd be gone.
He stood by Turner so long, he has permanent freezer burn.
Maybe they're a team of destiny this year, starting with that first game against the Lions,
then running into teams that have imploded - Dallas, Minny, Carolina, Buffalo, even Philly (at least one game),
just having three of those games going the other way, would change the offseason landscape.
I still say one playoff win should only equal 1 extra year.
If the sky opens up and grants them a Super Bowl win this year, then that deserves a 3 year extra,
but only 3 years, because if Martz parlays that in to a HC gig somewhere else,
I'm sure they this team heads back to mediocrtityville.
I still want Angelo gone no matter what.

Cowher had one Superbowl win in 15 years with the steelers. Bringing him in to coach would not be some miracle that would solve all problems. Learning a whole new system and new schemes would set the Bears back a couple of years imo. After years of Jauron and Wannsted Lovie is the best coach we have had since Ditka

It's not the SB appearances, very few get to multiple in a 2-5 year period, it's the down time between them...were we competing for div titles, were we making the playoffs? In Lovie's case, no and that is what scares me, He and JA can take a good thing and F' it up so bad it take them 4 years to fix it...just in time to save their ass. I just hope they don't sit on their asses next year like they did after the SB.

I think that's pretty ignorant for anyone to believe Lovie's a lost cause. he's a young coach with a lot of promise. only been at it 6 years, and had a pretty good amount of success for only 6 years in.
you know what I don't see in fans anymore. Loyalty. I'm not talking about being a homer. I'm talking about seing the big picture, and cutting a guy slack on things he can Fix, and has shown he's willing to fix.
Even guys like Cowher, Belichek, Shannahan, Tomlin, you name it. Good and Great coaches have all had bad years, and made really really really dumb mistakes. why so hard on Lovie? What has Lovie done so bad he's beyond forgiveness, beyond the benefit of the doubt??...
People now days, from fans to just people in general are so quick to just say "forget that guy, or forget that person" after the most minute of mistakes, to even bigger mistakes.
maybe I'm not saying it the right way, or wording it to have it make sense to you guys the way it does to me... but I'm all about looking past mistakes, and trying to see down the road.
My biggest fear is pulling the plug on a guy just to have him turn around and snap out of it.
much like Hester... he struggled in EVERY facet even returns that everyone was ready to just flat out cut his Arse.
had we done that, how would you feel now? players slump, coaches slump, and I think Lovie's earned at least one or two more years to prove that 07-08-and 09 were more bad luck, and Injuries than bad coaching on Lovie's part.
He finally got the line up of coaches he wanted when he FIRST came here, and it shows he knows what he's doing, it show's he's willing to learn from the mistakes he does make, and he has the respect and admiration of the players the coaches and the managment, and they all buy into what he's selling, and that's about as a good a recipe for success as one could ask for...
but what I'm a saying.... this is BEAR country. Nobody's happy till everyone on the team is a HOF'r. from the coaches to the waterboy.

Perhaps, but with the exception of one year, his teams did not embarrass themselves - teams knew they were going to be in a snobber-knocker fight with the Steelers.
Which means Cowher knew how to build competitive teams year in, year out, and you didn't hear every year "I'm happy with how our team looks", regardless of the product that got on and off the field.

Im not a fan of Lovie but I like him more then JA. I think most of the teams problems are JA. There are allot of things about Lovie to hate but to focus on them is redundant. One of the things I like about having Lovie on board is the players through thick and thin have backed him up and havent given up on him. That counts for something imo. I just hate him going into a lame duck year. Marvin Lewis took the Bengals to the playoffs and the next season tanked. Im just hoping that isnt Lovie's fate. The Pack arent going to lead the league in injuries next year. The Lions can only get better if Stafford stays healthy. Vikings well idk what to think of them they have no qb for next year, no coach, and plenty of FAs to sign.
just be happy with what is going on this year I guess is the best option for anyone. It isnt every year we make the playoffs

I could see a scenerio where GB/Bears fight for the div, Lions fight for 2nd or 3rd, and the Vikes are bottom dwellars, they put all their eggs into the farve basket, and thie steriod Wall is about to have half of it retire.
I agree Lovie is not the biggest problem, that is JA, but I don't think Lovie is anything special. I just hope we don't invest to much into him after this season and see how he does next year...just to make sure this hasn't been a fluke. We have been very fortunate w/the amt of 2nd and 3rd stringers we've had to face, along w/other key injuries. I want to see what we can now do on an even playing field(relatively).

I think JA is on the hot seat. I don't see how Lovie can be a scapegoat anymore. At least not this season.
