yeah, tis good to have Chris Harris back again. He really did well opposite Mike Brown...so here's oping Wright can fill in that role over time.

now word for word, but that's pretty much the jist of what he was saying.
And that makes sense. What troubles me is that even if Harris had picked up Holmes, Keller would've been wide open underneath and probably would have scored. It wasn't a very tricky play by offensive terms, but it definitely showcased a coverage gap. I'm wondering how they were supposed to cover the TE if Harris had stayed on Holmes.

that would be the Mike backer... he's got the deep middle in the Cover 2. so unless they were in a different coverage on that play, that's right on the safety.
(Lacher takes the deep middle, and Harris helps "over the top" as the term go's)

We really needed some veteran experience at the safety spot and with him playing we finally got it. This is the first time in several years that I don't see Safety as a big need going into the draft or free agency. Wright has also looked pretty good in the limited time that I've seen him play.
I think the Holmes td was simply busted coverage. The corner should have stayed with him all the way. At least that's the way I saw it.
why not trade him? He wasnt great and he was very replaceable. The problem with trading him imo was Lovie did his classic dog house crap and replaced him with Archuletta and Payne which was a huge mistake. We can live without Harris even now. It all depends on who you replace the guy with.

The problem with trading him was the personnel we decided was more worthwhile. A rookie, a has-been, a guy who couldn't stay on the field and a second year FS who had yet to show much of anything beyond electric athleticism. It was a total mixed bag of nuts back there and Harris was as good or better than any of them not named Brown. It was a nonsensical trade given our instability back there, and the fact that we got Bowman out of it doesn't change that.

I was so against the Arch move. I threw a party when the Skins outbid us for him a year before we traded for him. I dont mind cutting/trading anyone as long as they do a legit job replacing the person.

Chris Harris has turned into a vacuum cleaner for us this year. He saved our bacon against the Eagles with that interception in the end zone off of Michael Vick, and he did it again against the Jets. I know that he has forced takeaways in several other scenarios, but those two stand out more than any of the others by a long shot.
