I can't believe we ever got rid of him in the first place.

Just want to point out the last 3 seasons the Bears have had with Chris Harris playing for them they're a combined 35-12 while the 3 seasons they spent without Harris they're 23-25
Harris may not be worth 12 extra wins himself obviously, but he is CLEARLY a benefit to this team & we would not be as good a defense without him

Yes and it's nice to have a safety ROTATION not a starter rotation with a different combination every week.

You answered your own question mo. The whole idea of personnel management should be to keep your best players unless you're certain that you have an adequate or better replacement. We didn't regardless of Lovie's manlove for Archuleta and that's the end of that story.
We've needed safety help for three year since he left yet you seem to be saying that we were right to get rid of him. How'd that work out for us as opposed to how it's working out now. Sorry pal I just can't agree with you on this one.

At least now with some of the safety questions answered we can possibly look at improving the CB position in the draft or FA.

We really needed some veteran experience at the safety spot and with him playing we finally got it. This is the first time in several years that I don't see Safety as a big need going into the draft or free agency. Wright has also looked pretty good in the limited time that I've seen him play.
I think the Holmes td was simply busted coverage. The corner should have stayed with him all the way. At least that's the way I saw it.
not so much busted coverage, but the safety had two players enter his coverage area. Sanchez pump faked to the TE (who had been getting alot of throws his way) and Manning bit on it leaving Holmes open on the seam. He had to cover one of them..in hind sight he should've given up the underneath route and stayed back on Holmes, but....
I'd also like to add that I think Harris would be an even better SS. He lacks speed to cover deep IMO, maybe Wright will take over the FS duty

Nick, I want you to go back to using that seductress as your signature again. I got off too much looking at it and I just wanted to share that with you. That is all. lol
Anyway, players tend to lose range as they get older, but they make up for it by changing their angles. Chris Harris has done that this year, and it's shown.

I think the term would be vets like Harris take BETTER angles. Young or old, fast or slow you want to take the best angle to the ball you can in pursuit or in ball flight.
