Lovie better stick to his promise and do everything he can to beat the packers. I would hate to lose to them, only to replay them in the playoffs and get knocked out. If that happens, everyone would be asking why we didn't try to knock them out when we had a chance. This is a playoff game in that sense. We will have the bye to heal up a bit so no reason we shouldn't try to burry the pack and I'll be wildly disapointed if we sit some starters.

OK, but the Pack would have to go through Philly, and then beat the Falcons before coming to Chicago to play the Bears.
That would not be the worst thing that could happen to the Bears.

It would be if we then lost to the packers. That's all I'm saying. Sweep the division. Sweep the pack. Show no mercy.

The Bears need to worry about themselves before they worry about the Packers. Resting your starters for the entire game is probably not a good idea. But pulling some of them at some point, especially the dinged up ones, is probably a good idea. It's better to err to side of caution in my opinion.

It's the old debate of whether resting starters to heal or eliminate injuries is best, or keeping a routine is best.
I'll admit it, I just want to beat the packers to knock them out of the playoffs. I hate the packers. I'm a homer. And I hate the packers.

Would a playoff loss to the Packers be any worse than a playoff loss to the Faclons? Going to Atlanta scares me a hell of alot more than facing the Packers in their third road game.

If the Bears do decide to pull select players, I think it would be smart of the coaching staff to make them believe they are playing a full game, so that they make that week and day as similar to the routine as possible. Otherwise, you'll get guys loafing it... it's just human nature.
Besides that, we won't know if we're playing for the #1 seed til after the Falcons game, so imagine they'll be prepping like it matters anyhow.

I can buy into that. In my world, it will be 63-0 at halftime anyway, so we will be able to bench all of starters.
