Andrew Perloff's 2011 NFL predictions
NFL predictions for 2011
Story Highlights
The Patriots are poised to win their fourth Super Bowl of the Brady-Belichick era
The Colts will be back in vintage form next season; the Bears will regress
Brett Favre will finally retire for good ... but not without a little more drama
1. The Patriots will beat the Saints in Super Bowl XLV....
2. With the No. 1 pick in the 2011 draft, the Carolina Panthers select ... Andrew Luck of Stanford University... next season.
3. Labor peace will be reached by the April draft....
4. The Colts will storm back next season.
5. These five also-rans in 2010 will make the playoffs in 2011.
• Cowboys:
• Vikings:
•Dolphins:
• Raiders:
• Texans:
6. The Bears will drop off. Chicago, the NFC's likely No. 2 seed in the upcoming playoffs,
has a recent history of falling off after fantastic seasons.
In 2001, the Bears were 13-3 and slipped to 4-12 the next season.
They were 13-3 and reached the Super Bowl in '06, then regressed to 7-9 the following season.
Their defensive core is getting older and they may not get as many lucky bounces in '11.

Their defensive core is getting older?
Yeah, so is our offense, special teams, coaches, stadium employees & fans. People get older, shocker
And the ages of every starter on the defense
DE- Peppers (30) & Idonije (30) / DT- Toeaina (26) & Adams (30)
OLB- Tinosamoa (29), Briggs (30) & Hillenmeyer (30) - Starter when healthy / MLB- Urlacher (32)
CB- Tillman (29) & Jennings (27) / S- Manning (28) & Harris (28)
Seriously it's one of the Youngest defenses in the NFL. Urlacher @ 32 is the oldest starter
He has the Bears regressing next year with the Colts, Cowboys & Vikings getting better - AKA Everything I was wrong about this year I'll predict to happen next year & hope that happens

What the hell do these people know about predictions? If we win the Super Bowl, is it likely that we fall below .500 the next season? Even if we get to the Super Bowl and lose, it's unlikely for us to lose more than we win next season. If we get a few more draft picks and sign a key free agent or two, then I am flipping off this son of a bitch and telling where to put his two cents in at.

One point you cannot refute that he made though; when we have really good seasons we seem to follow it up w/bad ones. That part does scare me a little though. I jus hope we can limit it to 9 wins and still be in the playoff hunt.
The older thing is a bit odd, Vikings team sure looked old this year, so did the Colts...PManning is getting old. So is that Ravens D.

We went 11-5 in 05 & followed it up with 13-3 & Super Bowl in 06
We haven't fallen off every time we have a great season

I think the Bears are one of the up-and-coming teams in the league. I say this despite the fact that they're in perfect position to make a deep playoff run this season. I think that with a few moves in free agency and some wise draft choices, they'll be back, ready to challenge for the division and the league championship again next season.
However, first things first. Let's beat the Packers and get through the playoffs and win the Super Bowl. I want a piece of both the Giants and the Patriots in the playoffs so badly, I can taste it.
