Although he's no bigger than Taylor I think he's much quicker, more athletic and runs more compactly than Taylor. Lovie should activate him this Sunday and let him see what he can do spelling Forte.
By the way, how come we both joined this board at the same time yet you have 4x more posts than I do!!!!!!!

LOL SHHHHH! not many of us 2004's people left here!!
and yeah if played bell not object either.. but the other thing with taylor was seeing Favre and AP both all year complain how it hurt their team and not having him for 3rd down's really hurt.. so "value" in the aaddition by substaction also

Not sure where I heard it, but I think this sums up Forte quite well.
"Forte is not the best at any one category, but he does everything very well"
He may very well be the most complete RB in the NFL.

Unless he fumbles the ball. A lot. Then we're screwed.

Kinda like Walter Payton was? He wasn't the fastest, but he would absolutely mug defenders who tried to tackle him.
(I'm not comparing him to Payton, since Walter Payton was arguably the greatest all-around player in NFL History. But he certainly has the tools to be like Marshall Faulk. I think the difference is that Faulk did have more speed than Forte has, but Forte is a workhorse.)
I could see Matt Forte becoming like Marshall Faulk in another season. After all, he did run for over 2,000 his senior year at Tulane. I can't believe that we managed to get him in the 2nd Round a couple of years ago.

Don't think he's like payton, if want a back with same running style and pass catching its marcus allen, not payton.. forte has the same "glide" as allen had, and never looked Fast ,but people didn't catch him either..Allen alos very good out of the backfield

So, Best Bears RB Since Payton? Only Going to categorize players by their most important years in Chicago
Neal Anderson
88-90: 783 Car, 3460 yd, 4.42 YPC & 33 Rush TD / 131 Rec, 1290 yd, 9.84 YPC & 7 Rec TD / 914 Touches, 4750 Yards From Scrimmage, 5.20 Yards Per Touch & 40 Total TD
Anthony Thomas
01-03: 736 Car, 2928 Yd, 3.98 YPC & 19 Rush TD / 55 Rec, 377 Yd, 6.85 YPC & 0 Rec TD / 791 Touches, 3305 Yards From Scrimmage, 4.18 Yards Per Touch & 19 Total TD
Thomas Jones
04-06: 850 Car, 3493 Yd, 4.11 YPC & 22 Rush TD / 118 Rec, 724 Yd, 6.13 YPC & 0 Rec TD / 968 Touches, 4217 Yards From Scrimmage, 4.35 Yards Per Touch & 22 Total TD
Matt Forte
08-10: 796 Car, 3145 Yd, 3.95 YPC & 18 Rush TD / 164 Rec, 1435 Yd, 8.75 YPC & 7 Rec TD / 960 Touches, 4580 Yards From Scrimmage, 4.77 Yards Per Touch & 25 Total TD
Definitely Rank it
1- Neal Anderson
2- Matt Forte
3- Thomas Jones
4- Anthony Thomas
With 2 or 3 more years & the longevity Forte could pass Anderson as best Since Payton. Payton is the last Bears back with 4 straight years of 800 Rush yd or more (only Peyton & Sayers have done this) so Forte can get that title with the longevity factor. But Anderson when he touches the ball, has definitely been better

BTW how bad are the suntimes writers becoming( and both jenseen and hayes contributed and neither updated stats after last week?).. knox needs 40 yards and forte 22 yards- they can't even get this right!
Knox, Forte eye 1,000 club
But it’s a goal nonetheless, and both have a chance to get to 1,000 in the season finale against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Knox needs 132 yards receiving, while Forte needs 135 yards rushing.
“That was one of my goals coming into this year,” Knox said. “But, most important, I’m looking forward to getting a win because it’ll build momentum going into the playoffs.”

Neal will always have a special place for me, because of the class he exhibited with the toughest job of having to follow the living legend Payton and always compared to him, and not only only the field but off, handled THAT with nothing but class and resepct. Neal's knee injury shorted his career alot so never know what could ahve been, but agree he is #2 after payton since 1990.. but do think forte before all is said and done, will pass him by alot
