Gotta take into account the line troubles, and learning curve early on. had we the ability to go back to week one looking like we do now, I bet hester puts up good numbers. I wouldn't say elite numbers, but I'd bet solid at the very least.

Think the whole #1 WR or not was silly and the league been changing for awhile, and esp on bears its alot more as thought would be before the year "receiver by committee" and each week different WR's( or Te or rb) would lead team depending on the matchup and D's playing.. and that is how its played out..Much rather have 4-5 weapons that change each week and harder to defend, than the mythical #1 that needs 10-12 passes thrown his way each week or pouts and easier to defend.. look at how much more dangerous NE got in 2010, when moved away from the Mythical #1 with Moss and to 4-5 weapons that change who's the #1 each week . just think the game is changing and so is the WR position.
BTW didn't realize until just looked hester has catches in 45 stright games he's played in..( only his 3 games last year when hurt and didn't play)

good point with the learning curve. Just thought when we see the Lions led by Kitna get over 4000 yards in passing offense we would also. Guess we had the luxury of not playing from behind in every game lol

I agree allot of teams are more spread out now but this isnt what Martz systems are like historically. The one time he did that in San Fran cause they had jack to throw to the system wasnt all that. I just think for this system in particular we need that number one go to guy when you know the blitz is coming. bennet is as close to that guy we have but he isnt no number one guy. Could he be in another year? Why not but I see him more as a num two.

Wow, if Hester is our BEST player, then we are in serious trouble.

With the way his offensive line held on for dear life in week 3, I figured McCarthy would say Peppers is our best player.

The last time Hester had this kind of impact was his rookie year. But because we have a much more potent offense I believe the threat he poses provides even more impact. Teams definitely have to choose from two very real poisons now vs then. Either kick to Hester and suffer a 35+ run back or kick away or squib it and give Cutler a short field to attack. This offense has now shown they can put up 38+ consecutively and make teams pay quick giving up field position.

Devin Hester taught Peppers how to play defensive end, just after he taught Yo Yo Ma how to play the cello.

think we all under-estimated martz( i know I did) and thought he was too stubborn to change, but he's proven THAT wrong, has changed.. has spread the ball out.. heck if anyone said martz would be a 50/50 run -pass OC.. you would said he was wrong, but we are a 50/50 team now.. and forte going over 100 alsmost every week.
think the same happening with the WR.'s and why really want to see what year 2 will look like
BTW ddin't know where to put but thought a good stat:
Bears and Packers have only made the playoffs twice in the same season (1994 and 2001) in the last 65 years

Historians recently discovered 3 new pages from the Book of Genesis.
They would have found it sooner, but Hester wasn't done writing it yet.
