This might be your best mock yet Windy. Esp the FA's. A vet C and a rook C/G sound great to me. (Although I'd love to see us draft the left side of Wisconsin's OL).
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Very nice!
I'd love to pick up Ray McDonald and Ryan Kalil. McDonald has a great first step and a non-stop motor that always runs hot. He'd be a much better fit for us as a one-gap DT than as a 5-tech in SF and Kalil would anchor our OL for the foreseeable future.
Draft looks good too...I'm particularly a big fan of both DeAndre Brown and Josh Bynes, but I'm not sure either will be on the board at the spots you project. I think Brown could go in the 2nd round, and if he does fall, it'll probably be because of the depth at WR in this class. I also think Bynes is more likely to go late 3rd or in the 4th and if he falls, it'll be because of size/durability concerns, but IMO a Cover 2 team like Chicago, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, etc will snatch him up before the 5th.
Great stuff!

Good mock, I'm on the same page as you but don't like Cannon in the 1st.
I think Mike Pouncey would be a better pick over Cannon if he's there. More than likely he will be as you don't normally see guards go in the 1st round unless they're the kinda guys that are beasts and will be pro-bowlers (like Steve Hutchinson, Iupati was last draft). However I don't see him dropping past the Steelers if they pick before us, think they'd love to reunite the brothers.
If Pouncey isn't there I think Penn State centre Wisniewski is a better prospect than Cannon and could fill in at G before moving to C when Olin retires.
If Pouncey or Wisnieski aren't there, I don't know if there's any interior lineman the Bears could get that would be a big upgrade over what's available by their 2nd round pick. If that's the case there may be better value at with CBs Janoris Jenkins or Brandon Harris, DT Drake Nevis who would provide the interior pass rush we need to take pressure off Peppers, or a WR like Floyd or Baldwin could be good.
With the 2nd round pick, if OL is taken in the 1st, a CB like Jimmy Smith, Aaron Williams or Ras-I Dowling would be great. If not, there oughta be some decent guards around (Cannon, Ijalana, Moffitt) .
1st round pick:
1. G Pouncey
2. C Wisniewski
3. CB Brandon Harris
4. CB Janoris Jenkins
5. WR Jonathan Baldwin
6. WR Michael Floyd
7. DT Drave Nevis
2nd round pick:
1. CB Ras-I Dowling
2. CB Jimmy Smith
3. G Marcus Cannon
4. G Benjamin Ijalana
As long as the Bears get a Guard or Centre in the first 2 rounds I'm happy. With the other pick priority would be CB, DT, then WR. Hopefully Pouncey is available in the 1st, then there'll be a lotta good CB depth in the 2nd, and then go for a 6'3+ WR in the 3rd (eg. Leonard Hankerson or Deandre Brown).
As for free agency, it'd be fantastic if the Bears could pick up a respectable guard or centre so there's more flexibility to go BPA in the 1st round.

Wanted Kalil coming out of USC, and he's easily at the top of my wants list this offseason. As or the mock. I am a Cannon fan as a power guard, but he isn't first round material in my mind unless he blows the world away in workouts. Glad to see you finally put a CB at the top of you board, also, and I am a Smith fan despite his somewhat tight hips in transition. Deandre is a bit of an enigma with his injury issues this season, and I wonder if he has the suddenness in and out of his breaks to actually play WR in the NFL, but he's worth a gamble ~4. I think like with Cannon, you are grading Taylor much too high. He's short with short arms and average athleticism and strength. He's this years AQ Shipley. If we do land Kalil, I would rather we go with an inside out OL prospect like Pinkston or even just plain power guard like Moffitt a round earlier. I've been on Moffitt since the jump off, and man do I think his value is just outstanding in the third. Really, I would rather have him in the third than Cannon in the first, easily. Hell, I'd take a shot on McGill there who has some tremendous upside before I drafted Taylor that early. I've got no problem with the bottom picks, but I will throw out a couple players at those spots that I like late. Brad Jefferson at LB and Lawrence Guy from my Sun Devils at UT. I think both make a climb before the draft, though, so they most likely wouldn't last there.

Cannon got his ass handed to him regularly today vs Watt. It safe to say I feel even more confidently now that he's not first round material, even at guard.

What other OG are out there, WindyCity?

and Charles Tillman has struggled
Agree with the draft, except cannon, he got owned by Wisconsin today...but I don't agree with the Tillman thing. He's still solid and makes plays. Being a DB isn't just about interceptions. He tackles well, forces alot of fumbles, and plays sound coverage.

Neither Tillman or Jennings aren't that bad - they are good tampa 2 CBs. But it'd be good to have a CB that can match up with #1WRs man to man, so the defense can be a bit more flexibile and unpredictable. I thought Bowman would be that guy this season but Lovie doesn't think so.
However, if Lovie or Rod have much say I wouldn't be surprised if they'd rather go after a better pass rushing DT rather than CB - if they're running Cover 2 all the time that would have more impact than an upgrade at CB. Unfortunately most of the DTs in this draft are run stoppers, but if Drake Nevis outta LSU, who draws comparisons to Warren Sapp, is available for the #1 pick he could really make the defense a monster...

Well done, Windy! I really like Cannon, Smith, Brown and Bair.
What about free agent OT Kyle Calloway (Iowa)? He was considered one of the best offensive tackles available in the 2010 NFL Draft. According to NFL.com's Gil Brandt, "Calloway should be a solid pro starter" at right tackle in the NFL. He was released on August 30, 2010. He can't be worse than Webb, can he?
