Yeah, we're doing a lot better with our runs. Chris Taylor's stats shouldn't count, as he sucks to no end. And Jay Cutler is responsible for the majority of the sacks he's received the last 3 weeks.

no doubt Tice has improved what this line would've done if he wasn't here, but at the end of the day, based on performance, it was still the worst offensive line in the NFL in 2010.
I want to see what Tice does with some better talent:
IMHO we'll have to do serious work on this line from C over to the left. Kreutz is over the hill and likely gone next season, Williams is god awful at LG (although i'm still not convinced that he couldn't be worth giving 1 more crack at LT) and Omiyale is merely a swing OT. Garza is still competent and Webb has shown enough at RT to be worth allowing him to continue to develop.
Also guys, have to say, I think our TE position is really not one of strength now that the rubber has hit the road.
Manu is abyssal and should be cut at the end of the season. Clark is a complete unknown at this point b/c he hasn't played in 2 years. Davis is an unknown b/c he has hardly played at all. Olsen is just all around mediocre.
Think we have enough problems to waste a draft pick on TE this season, so I suspect we'll go into next year w/Clark, Davis, and Olsen. But going forward, we have to recognize that we still don't have a long term competent TE on the roster.
And Guess that is the point OB, he HA improved the line and that is his job, and as such have no problem giving him kudos.
Does it still need ALOT of improvement and different personal? Of course
But Maybe just my opinion- I do feel he is a BIG upgrade from heistand and what could have been a total disaster in 2010 and a 5-8 Win season with culter getting completely destroyed and broken, he took the Crap and molded it,esp from the Bye week into a functioning Unit- which many didn't even think Possible. As said above there will be a lot of RFA' s that become F/A's and we can finally get some real players there and alos the draft. I'm def willing to give Tice the benefit of doubt and think he can get alot better with another year

i agree with jimmors, run blocking isnt good, its still really bad. they open up a few pin holes every now and then but this is ALL forte. that 4.5 yards per carry Forte had is all because of his talent. How many times do we see forte go outside after these blobs of humans fall down and cause a rugby pile up the middle? all the time.

No our play calling when using Taylor sucks because it is way too obvious when he comes in the defense stacks the line. He was solid when playing for the vikings yet when he comes to chicago and runs behind a POS OL his numbers dropped bigtime. Unless Jay has a legit #1 wr he will either take sacks, throw the ball away or run for the first down. If Webb can line up backwards and ass block I see a future for the kid.

I think we should be saying thank you to Martz for finally laying off the 60-70% pass ratio; which did more for the line then Tice did.
And I'm not all that impressed w/Martz; for all the love he is getting we are ranked no higher then when we had RT here. Not since 2004, have we had a 30th ranked O. Martz did very little for us until he was told to make the running game a larger part of the O. Since then we have been slightly above average
That puts us slightly above where RT could have put us, which was below average(15-32 ranked o's between 04-09). I don't think in most of those years(outside the SB) we had much better talent either, OL has been shakey to bad since the SB, the WR's have actually been worse, and the RB situation was only better during the SB when we had all 3 rb's averaging over 4ypc(thanks OL).
Most of the credit for this year has to goto Toub, Maranneli, Lovie lucky horse shoe, and Lovie himself for telling Martz to put down the GSoT pipe and run the ball.

I never said "no improvement," i said HORRIBLE. And i can probably count the number of times they "opened up holes" for Forte on one hand. Has it happened? Sure...on rare occasions. But the vast majority of the time, Forte and taylor get hit IN THE BACKFIELD before even sniffing the LoS on plays up the gut, or anywhere between the tackles. Forte has most of his success when he bounces to the OUTSIDE, and/or makes people miss a tackle and books it upfield.
Ive seen this play out way too many times, and each time it gets more frustrating to watch. Seeing other backs pound it up the gut for a respectable 4 yards while watching our backs pound it for a loss, 0 yards, or 1 yard if were lucky.
But thats ok, my guess is the OL will be priority #1 this offseason.

I think I owe Tice one more thank you.
Thank you for making the offensive line worse, and getting our QBs sacked MORE than last year, with pretty much the same crap.
2009, the line gave up 35 sacks
2010, the line gave up 56 sacks (more than the packers line did last year... and remember how everyone made fun of them for their line?)
I am sure if someone looked up QB hits, I am sure Cutler got hit more than last year as well.
You can say its due to the Martz system, and that may be the case, but he still allowed his QB to get sacked MORE than last year.
