Kreutz had a great career here, so let's not tarnish it by keeping him past his time.

No doubt our current foundation is starting to crubmle away. Scrap all but a few spots and start over. Yes lets not have Kruetz be the Farve of Centers. Agree w/this post 100%

im sure JA will refuse to draft any linemen that are actually good at football, also refusing to acknowledge that kreutz is old, slow, and bad.

It's no great mystery that Olin Ktuetz's better playing days are behind him but he is a great leader both on the field and in the locker room. He's still one tough SOB and with a young line and one that may getting even younger I'd have to agree that he should be kept for at least one more year until we draft an adequate replacement. JA should go out an get a guy like Pouncey and let Kreutz mentor him into the starting C spot. I just can't see letting him go for the likes of an Edwin Williams or by moving Garza over to C.

I can't see letting Kruetz go until he has trained his replacement

Here is my stance (if you care, but I don't care if you don't)
Kreutz is clearly on the down side of his career and he is a shell of what he used to be. He used to be one of the top centers in the game, but now the league has passed him by. The time has come to let him walk gracefully into the sunset.
Here is the problem though, good centers don't grow on trees, and I am not sure the wisest things in the world to do is to throw a rookie out there to be the full time go to guy. Kruetz may be all but washed up, but he is better than his "backup" Garza.
So I think I need to agree with DB here. The smartest thing to do might just be to keep him one more year, while we draft and train a replacement who would share time with Kruetz.

hes just as bad as the other idiots on this line. i think a move to center might help him MAYBE. but can he really be worse that kreutz?

Garza couldn't possibly be as good as Olin Kruetz at C because he's never really played that position on the line before, or hasn't done so very often. Kruetz is serviceable, but not great, and I think like most of the rest of do, that his best days are behind him. Better to sign a FA C or draft someone to take his place and let Kruetz ease them into the role than to simply allow Garza, who isn't blocking much better, take over the most complex position on the offensive line.
