I don't think 14 tds is HOF worthy. Sorry but it is not like the special teams is loaded with starters. Maybe when Hester retires and has 25-30 returns for a TD would I change my mind. I would put a few kickers in first in the HOF before I would put in a returner.

what's more difficult, throwing, catching, rushing for a TD, or returning a kick for a TD? My point is, anyone can score a TD on offense...big deal. I think-IMHO-he finishes up at around 20 +/-....if you just look at 23's TD's you may not get the full picture of what he has brought. The field position is huge too...

But you are not playing against the starters, you are playing against mostly 2nd and 3rd string players.

What about Olin Kreutz? He hasn't been super the past two years, but he's been one of the most consistent offensive lineman in a decade.

I agree. I want to see Dent get in first, then we can discuss who else on the Bears is worthy.

I agree that consistently over looking Dent is a complete travesty. How many times does a DE become the Super Bowl MVP? Ignoring Briggs play would be a travesty as well. There was a time when I thought that no Bears player would ever become a better "Will" linebacker than Wilbur Marshall. The guy was one complete scary beast. But Briggs all around play even trumps that of Marshall despite his lack of sacks. He's not a blitzing LB in a 3-4 defense and to compare on the same playing field with those who are is just ridiculous!

Unless a lineman is off the charts good( munoz, dwight stephanson, webster etc) its really tough and doubt kreutz has a shot at all.. IMO if neither Jay hilgenberg and jimbo covert, both who were better than kreutz and have rings and played on the great 80's team can't get a sniff or even on the preliminary list still, hard to think olin has a shot.

While agree with briggs if plays another 4-5 years at the top level, my problem as said before if leroy jordan, cornelius bennett, randy gradishar, sam mills and chris hanburger etc not even given a sniff of the hall of fame, hard to see briggs who isn't different than any of those making it.. SUCKS they mostly jsut count the Sacks for OLB not run stopping, tackling INT, and just look at the Sack totals from a 3-4 OLB( jsut a glorified DE and thomas wasn't a good runs topper but still made it)

No doubt but what he has to play so convincingly well that there's just no way to avoid electing him without a huge uproar. Another 4 years of Pro Bowl level should be enough to do that.

Dent needs to be put in the Hall of Fame, and so do Jim Covert and Jay Hilgenberg off of the offensive line from those Bears teams of the 1980s.
In my opinion, Lance Briggs is a six-time Pro Bowler and a one-time 1st Team All-Pro player. I think the only help he needs to get into the Hall of Fame would be for him to finally win that coveted Super Bowl championship. There's no time like the present to go out and win a World Championship. And, if we don't win it this year, that becomes the fuel for the fire to win big next year. I think bringing in a shut down cornerback will be key in assisting the secondary, as well as another safety to go with Chris Harris, who has played marvelously this year with his ability to create turnovers.
We have the defense to do this, and, when they're right, the offense can be pretty daunting too. Bears fans are the best football fans in the world. It's time to BEAR DOWN and win ourselves a Super Bowl championship.
