WOW!!!! ~ NOT BAD! ... Lee Russakoff's NFL Pl
4. Chicago Bears (May-Win-NFC-by-Default-to-1)
The NFC is the most wide-open conference we’ve seen in years. If any of the five NFC representatives wind up in Dallas, it won’t shock me in the slightest. But there’s something about this Bears team. Maybe it’s the lack of respect they get outside Chicago, maybe it’s their defense’s ability to stop the run, maybe it’s the fact that I see them getting the NFC Championship game at home.
A lot of people like the Packers-Eagles winner to make it to Dallas. I get why. Both have dynamic offenses and are sexier to watch than Chicago. But the Bears have won every game they needed to win all year, and with no complete team in the conference, I’ll go with the side I think will only need to win two home games.

Im happy for you, and imma let you finish, but the Atlanta Falcons have the best record at home of all time, OF ALL TIME!!
...well maybe not, but i think everyone seems to forget that the road to the SB runs through atlanta, and they are downright scary at home. Saints did beat them at home, by 3 points, but unfortunately, the one team to beat them at home this season is most likely coming to chicago to face us. So...Bears @ Atlanta could be the NFCC game, and if so, it will be a tough one.

Oh, im not saying we CANT beat them...if you look at Atlanta's games, most of their victories have been by a TD or less. ID just rather not have to go there to get to the SB, especially knowing that the Patriots most likely will be on the other side.
In any case, whoever wins these playoffs and SB will definitely have deserved it...one way or the other.

What's he referring to when he says he'll back the only team that needs to win two home games. That would seem be Atlanta and not the Bears. It's hard to buy into any of his opinion when he can't even get that right.

Oh we can beat atlanta , the third times the charm. They don't run the ball as well as everyone thinks. I seen something that said this also and showed how most of they're yards come late in the fourth with the lead. I would love to see the Bears go down there and beat them and finally get the respect they deserve.

I have no doubt the Bears can get to the SB this year. We've seen them play really well and also play really bad, but they are healthy and if they win the turnover battle they are really hard to beat. Just get to the NFC Championship, thats the first step :)

Well, seeing how NOBODY on the offensive side of the ball (minus taylor, kreutz and manuman...blozznads) have been to the playoffs, I think if they can win the first one, they'll be comfortable. Everyone on D and special teams knows the score, I just hope any playoff jitters they get on O will be quick and over with, if they're there at all....

Judging from what Cutler said in his interview with WGN this evening, he says that they're definitely feeling butterflies in their stomachs - the ones who have never been to the playoffs before. But, BUT, he also said that if you don't feel a little nervous, you probably don't care about what's going on.

Maybe what Russakoff meant...
Yeah, that "two home game" statement is odd. Maybe he thinks that ATL will lose their first playoff game? In that case, I think the Bears would have two home games (their first--a supposed win-- plus the NFC Championship).
Either way, his picks for the SB are, well... interesting. I don't think we'll see a SB without the Pats. (Although it would be AWESOME to see them not make it!) And as far as picking the Bears to be in the SB... well, we all hope so. I just hope Cutler gets smarter and the OL miraculously gets tougher.
A little luck might help, too.
