Anderson was always a pretty damn good back. Nice speed, could break tackles, blocked well. Was more of a outside runner, but still quite effective when needed. Always thought he was the best possible replacement we could have had for Walter, even if Walter wasn't quite gone before he started getting most of the carries.

"If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain."

Great find nerrad. I loved Anderson, had some pretty big shoes to fill and did a damn good job of it.

good counter play back too. he filled the biggest shoes ever at the running back position quite nicely. hes second all time for bears yardage

I thought he was a hell of a back when he took over after Walter Payton. One thing the bears seemed to do well was draft runningbacks and Linebackers.

One of my favs...
A great counter back with speed, power and a shifty stutter step move. Great replacement to the great Payton, but we haven't had one like him since. Forte reminds me a bit though.
Those clips were great Nerrad. Thanks for posting em. I remember the Brad Muster/Neal Anderson back field fondly.
None of my posts on this forum have been aided by the use of deer-antler spray...

Great videos, nerrad. I know little about Neal Anderson aside from what I've read, but he looked like he was a dynamic runner.
