Nnamdi Asomugha a free agent- thoughts for b
2 Part question- One do you think bears will make a play? and second if did what price, and would you rather instead see F/A dollars for a Olineman instead?
Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha contract voided and now will be allowed to become an unrestricted free agent without the Oakland Raiders being able to use their franchise tag on him, according to an NFL Players Association document.
Asomugha’s deal included a little-known clause that said his contract would void if he didn’t achieve his not-likely-to-be-earned incentives in 2010 -- and he didn'’t. His contract also contained a stipulation that if he didn’t achieve his incentives, the Raiders would agree not to designate him their franchise or transition player.
To achieve his incentives, Asomugha had to play in a greater number of defensive plays in 2010 than he did in 2009, and this season Asomugha played in only 14 games whereas he played in all 16 in 2009.
He also could have achieved his incentives by improving upon on his interceptions, fumble recoveries or sacks this season -- but he didn?t have any interceptions, fumble recoveries or sacks this season. He will be the top defensive player available whenever free agency begins.

Depends on what the salary cap is gonna be, but who do we replace? I'd like to keep tillman, but I couldn't see why after that.
BUT, YES!!!!!!!!!!! Our D would be even more stout.

I'm surprised that the NFL let that clause fly, because it implies that the expectation by all parties of the contract, was that the not-likely to be earned bonuses were going to be earned. Just how does that make them not-likely to be earned?

I would do backflips if we got Namdi Asomougha, he is a incredible CB.
But we do not have the money to sign him and if it comes down to it answer this question,
Who would you rather have Logan Mankins or Namdi?

have to imagine a steep price, $20-30 mill upfront, $50 mill+ contract... and he would be opposite tillman and you can groom a Cb to be peanut's replacement in the n ickle/dime for next 1-2 years

We have the money- why would you think we don't?
though do agree part of the thinking may be a top O-lineman AND a top CB might be too much..

Some of the LTBE's and ULTBE stuff is really the opposite- they have like 30 pages of the CBA dedicated to it, and alot doesn't make sense.Guess just ANOTHER area that needs to be addressed in the next CBA.
