Dent is one of the HOF finalists again

Hopefully this is his time. He's #5 (or was) on the all time sack list, and I think was the first defensive MVP of the superbowl if I remember right. He deserves to be in the HOF, there needs to be more then just defensive players off the greatest defense in history that made it into the HOF.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – For the seventh time in the last eight years, all-time Bears sack leader Richard Dent on Sunday was named as one of 15 modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I just read a couple other stats on this I didn't know. Dent holds the playoff sack record with 10.5 in his career, and the most sacks in a playoff game with 3.5. Good stuff....

There's Faulk, Martin, Bettis, Sanders, Sharpe, Carter, Brown, Reed, Roaf & Dawson among this Final 15. Dent has been snubbed on far worse classes then this. I've given up on him ever making it in & just be ecstatic if I'm proven wrong

He should've been in a long time ago. I see no reason to care about his chances right now when he clearly won't get in despite obviously deserving it

Unfortunately, I gotta agree with ya here packer smacker. As much as he deserves it, I just can't see Dent getting in this year. This is one of the best and deepest groups of finalists I've ever seen and like you said, he's been screwed out of induction in far less impressive classes.

I always thought he'd get in, but now I'm starting to wonder if he ever will. It's a travesty that he isn't in already.

Sadly, there is no chance. Once again he will get passed over.

We'll see, some of those years he was odd man out because of other DE's like Bruce Smith were in the same class. Sometimes it takes time.....

ESPN certainly put him as a footnote in those eligible; hopefully they hold little weight...

WIth his years class, I'd be surprised if he even gets mentioned again.

I think he will eventually get in, but not until he's an old man. He will probably get in in a similar fashion to the way Dick LeBeau did last season after he had been retired for 38 years.

If he doesn't get in this year, it's a fucking crime. I'm sure Halas will send his fury down from above if Dent gets snubbed once again.
