Bulletin Board Material?
Jersey Sales Don't Add Up
By Michael C. Wright
LAKE FOREST, Ill. --Jay Cutler, Brian Urlacher, Julius Peppers, Devin Hester: all household names, right?
Perhaps that’s the case in Chicagoland, but to push the Bears’ no-respect sentiment a step further, none of the team’s jerseys made the early January top-sellers list on NFLShop.com, while NFC-North foe Aaron Rodgers checks in at No. 7.
The rankings come from jersey sales taking place from April 1 through Jan. 2
Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers leads the NFL in jersey sales, becoming the first defensive player to top the list since Urlacher in 2006. Following Polamalu are Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles, Rodgers, Eli Manning of the New York Giants, DeSean Jackson of the Eagles, and Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo checks in at No. 11, followed by Brett Favre of the Minnesota Vikings.
So here’s a little extra motivation for this Bears team fueled by a perceived lack of respect. Have at it.

It's time for our boys to take names and kick ass. I get tired of all the disrespect our boys get. Maybe winning the Super Bowl will shut everybody up for a change.

Probably because Bears fans are smart enough to buy the cheaper chinese knockoffs :)

If it counts, I THINK I have a Walter Payton knockoff. Somebody bought it in Korea, and sold it to me. But it's supposed to be a "throwback".

The only jersey I own is my Urlacher home jersey from 2006. It's a size 56, and I got a sweet deal on it over eBay ($46.00 before shipping and handling).

IDK what you paid, but mine was $400 for good seats at a Cowboy/Bears game. At least i got on the sideline (which wasn't price of the ticket)

Tickets to the nosebleed sections of either Soldier Field or Lambeau Field were going to cost me $125-140 a piece, depending on the quantity that Stub Hub had available. If I go to a Bears game in Chicago in the Fall, which won't be in December, by the way, I'll have to find tickets through an outlet that's cheaper than Stub Hub or Ticketmaster, if that's possible.

Jersey sales are now used for Bulletin Board material? Please.
What that means is our own fans are disrespecting our team by not buying their jerseys.
