Or is it the NFL mandate that the game be kept as close to the spread as possible ? Oh and while i'm on the topic. Is it just me or were there some phantom calls today that were obviously made to keep the game close ? Nevermind i'll answer my own question. Uhhh yup.
See, this isn't the first time this season that we've done this on defense. We played Prevent defense against the Eagles in the 4th Quarter, and we all know what nearly happened... they brought the score to within five points when we were up by 12 at the beginning of the final period of play. I don't get what Marinelli's modus operandi was here, but he cannot do that against the Packers or Green Bay will eat them up late.

Yep. The Bears must play next weeks game the way they played today. Smart, contest every pass, and in addition punch the ball out at every opportunity ( but NOT at the expense of making a sure tackle, which we've seen b4 ). Tackle well. This must be the most fundamentally sound game the Bears play this year. Rodgers is gonna get his completions. Limit the drives to field goals.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Rodgers is going to throw the ball around 45 times on Sunday because the Packer running game is a joke. Yeah, James Starks had a field day against the Philadelphia Eagles, but then doesn't everyone, since the Eagles' defense sucks? Atlanta held the Packers to 96 yards rushing, so you know that the Bears will probably cancel out Green Bay's running attack since our run defense is far superior to that of the Falcons. Rodgers will have to win the game all by himself next week. That will be a hard thing to do, and the more he throws it, the more likely he's going to make a mistake. Three things can happen when you throw the football, and two of them are bad, according to former Ohio State football coach Woody Hayes.

It's going to come down to QB turn overs and sacks. Their D is really good at getting those TO's, we will have to be better. Our qb will have to play very smart effiecent football; and our D will have to force Rodgers into mistakes. We also have to keep Cutler to 30-35 throws tops, when he gets into that 40 range we tend to end up in trouble; that means Forte and Taylor will have to get a lot of action, 35+ attempts.

I think we need to do like we did against the Seahawks and run the ball 40-45 times. The Packers surely won be able to stop that kind of offensive battery, and it will set up the playaction pass nicely.

Agreed, you force the packers into long drives, they do self-implode most times.. great at the "quick strike" but eliminate the deep ball andwhile Know it fustrates some to give up the short pass, its actually the smartest and best strategy against them.. They will have a hold, a dropped ball a fumble to kill their own drives.. and then wehn have the ball , like last sunday need at least 30+ runs sunday to win, control the clock, force them into long drives nd do think we win

yep, Just like controlling "beast" lynch to soemthing like 6 yards.. we will stop the run game, and make them one demensional.. The big thing is making sure the safeties stay deep and don't get beat over the top which is what rodger's always looks to do

I really don't see this Packers offense as being as dangerous as the Eagles were when we played them on November 28.
