Not to mention we still have yet to see if Harvey Unga is a better option that Bell.
Kinda pissed he got hurt, was hoping to see if there's any merit to this whole "suplimental draft" thing I JUST NOW heard about this year.

Why waste a draft pick on a RB when we have Garrett Wolf.

Starks has a good game against a bad Philly defense and people think he's great. He would have been a 6th or 7th round pick, and I'm not sure he would even make the Bears team. It would have been between him and Bell, and I don't think he would beat Bell out. Wolfe maybe, but then again Wolfe was a better ST's player. Either way its a bottom of the draft type of pick, and there are probably 50 other players they "considered".

Am I the only one that thinks RB are a dime a dozen these days? There are a few elite running backs in the league, granted, but how many times have we seen a backup burst onto the scene after a number one goes down?

Either way, I didn't like the LeFevour pick then, nor did I like the Chester Taylor signing, as i've been a vocal supporter of Khalil the whole time. But i'm not upset about it..

No, you're not... but I'm not going to blame you for not knowing that others said the same exact thing already. It's not your fault you're a self-absorbed dingleberry. It's likely due to the fact that your parents built up your delicate ego after every petty childhood accomplishment. I bet you still have that large soccer trophy somewhere close by. You know, the one you got after you kicked the ball into your own goal.

I did hit a layup in the other team's basket in fourth grade only to punch my teamate in the mouth after he yelled at me for it. I had to sit out the next game.
Oh, and up yours, pal.

For me this has less to do with Sraks or Lefavre. What alarms me is how poorly the GM and scouting dept were working together (and if not for this article, the house cleaning in the offseason was a good sign as well).
We didn't "need" either player, but we didn't "need" Wooton either.

We had Forte and Taylor. at that time that was a KNOCKOUT one two punch.
we had Hanie, and nobody else backing up cutler.
JA did the smart thing and made a play for a QB that looked like he could be a MUCH better option that Hanie.
now obviously Taylor ends up a bust, Lefevour never makes it out of the starting gate and for Bear fans it makes JA an easy target.
you forget.... GM's don't have crystal balls... we had NO NEED FOR ANOTHER RUNNING BACK. We do NOW and it's easy to see... and that's what I hate from fans.... like you all freakin new what was coming... give me a freakin break.
Hold on a minute Grizz. When we signed Taylor I thought then that we paid too much for him and it was my belief that we didn't need another 3rd down back who was weak between the tackles when we already had Forte who is an excellent three down back but also a weak inside runner. I was far more in favor of either keeping AP who could run between the tackles and almost never lost yardage or picking up a power back as a compliment to Forte. That would have been a one/two punch but I never saw Taylor/Forte in that light.
Instead we cut AP in favor of a $12 mil back who hasn't even come close to meeting our expectations of him. The real truth of the matter, as I previously stated, was JA's concerns about Forte's durability which may have been valid given his performance last season. Taylor was brought in to share the load or become the starter if Forte was injured and that's why we signed him! In truth we had already seen what AP and Bell could do and in my opinion both then and now I thought that either of them could fill that role as well as Taylor. So your insinuation that my position is based on 20/20 hindsight just isn't true so I call bullshit on this since you state it as a fact.
We also had a pretty good handle on what Hanie could do from his preseason work last season. While I never saw LeFevour in college I have seen Hanie play a number of times and he has the skills to be a decent backup QB in the NFL. If you really think about it Grizz we needed another rookie QB much less than we needed another RB. Just how in the hell often do you think that Hanie is ever gonna play during the regular season? Cutler has already proven his durability both with the Bears and in Denver so the chances of him going down for an extended period of time isn't all that high. He's names not Grossman or Greise. If we needed anything we needed a vet QB (obviously Collins was a good idea but a bad choice) and not another rookie. We could have picked up another rookie FA QB and there probably would have been little difference between them at that point. If JA new he was going to sign a vet QB why draft one too.
No, I don't forget that GM's don't have crystal balls, but I also don't forget those who ignore the advice of their top college personnel director as it relates to offensive picks when said GM hasn't exactly had a sterling record for evaluating offensive personnel. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it Grizz but in my opinion what I posted here and previously is to quote Marisa Tomei, "dead on balls accurate". Go back over some of my other posts and you'll find that I give JA credit when it's due and criticism when it isn't. I can't be any more fair than that.
In my considered opinion the Taylor signing was an expensive mistake and so was the drafting of a QB in the 6th round who couldn't even beat out his former free agent opponent much less challenge for a starting job. If your gonna spend a draft choice on a guy you should believe in his ability to do that. The Packers have always done that quite well and we'll be facing one of their former draftees this weekend. You can also add the Collins pick up to the mistake list as well although I didn't see that coming as well as I did the other two.
