Nice job, though I wouldn't go so far as to say that Halas "invented" professional football. He was there, and a big part of it, but he wasn't solely responsible. He was, however, the only "inventor" to stick around for any period of time. Halas was a heck of a halfback on the original team. Can you imagine being player, coach and owner?

Seriously though, I love the history of this team. It's the most storied franchise in the history of the game and win or lose, it makes me proud to be a Bear fan.

Thanks, guys. Halas was certainly a co-founder of the game of pro football, and thus should be credited as such, even if he didn't "solely" build the league up all by himself. I probably should have clarified that in my piece, BearStuff, so I hope that it doesn't ruin the credibility of it.
