Why am I so worried about this game?
I have been torn up inside about this game because I cannot stop worrying.
I believe it boils down to confidence. While the Bears have been good this year and they have 11 wins they have not gotten me 100% on board.
I went to my friend the Colts fan, who has 100% confidence they will win every game and he told me that the reason they he feels that way is because over time he has developed a 100%, unquestioned, concrete faith in Peyton Manning.
As a Bears fan,
-I do not have 100% confidence in Jay Cutler. I want to, I know I need to, but I cannot stop thinking that he is going to go out there and play a safe game.
-I do not have 100% confidence in Mike Martz to not go off the deep end and revert to his old ways. He did in Green Bay and it was one of the hardest things I have had to watch.
I cannot get myself to the point where deep down I know we will win. Despite watching Seattle get blown out by a Alex Smith led 49ers team a couple of weeks ago.
I think it will take time. A nice win this weekend will help, but the body fo work is not there for me to stop worrying.

I will say that my 85% confidence in this team is far better than what I have had since 2006.

I am worried b/c i would be worried about any team we would play. Seattle is the only 7-9 ever to make the playoffs and they are now in the 2nd round sooooooooo they are the worst 2nd rd team ever as well. Worried b/c of the O-line and the fact that they beat us here already. I still think we win big though.

There are no "give me's" in the playoffs. That's why. Ask the Saints.

I'll be worried when we face the Pats in the SB. I'm only mildly concerned about the Seahawks.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

In my opinion, when all year the media and many "fans" spent so much energy and time insisting the bears are not a good team( to prov they are right in their preseasn views of bears will be bad) and depending on the week the Qb, the Rb, the O line, the D line, the coaches, the field, the air, the tax rate, etc etc and even Now, looking for any and all reason's to downgrade an 11 win season as nothing but "luck or fortunate breaks' , and not really a good bears team- can see how it would be hard for many reading all that stuff and if they give it credence ever being confident of ever winning.
It's why at the games find people that just want to enjoy Sports, most times never going to message boards or read opinion pieces like when moronatti was with suntimes- because of the negativity or can enjoy the ride because too busy waiting for the crash and AHA! moment. So they just enjoy the team, the players and avoid all the bickering that In my opinion leads to all the doubt, hand wringing and ultimately the enjoyment of the season.. But to each his own as many on the other hand LIVE for the argument, live to just say negative stuff to see reactions and others just because think it gets under other's skin and others just are mostly 1/2 glass filled people. its a combination of all the above factors that at times makes it tough to ever have total confidence, its understandable, imo

Having already lost to Seattle and having the national sports press downplay their 11 win season should provide plenty of motivation going into this game. I for one believe that a very hungry for victory Bears defense will show up on Sunday. Urlacher is just itching to get back to a Super-Bowl as is Briggs, Peppers joined this team in order to have a chance to earn a ring, and the remainder of the Bears defensive starters need to prove that they're a Championship caliber defensive unit. So I'm really not worried about them at all. They pulled it together very nicely against the Packers on the road and they're a lot tougher opponent than Seattle. The plus factor in all of this is that they may be able to face the Packers again in the NFC Championship game and given the rivalry that will be a game for the ages.
If there's any concern at all it must be centered around Jay Cutler and offensive line. It seems to me that we still have a slightly more talented version of Rex Grossman at the helm again. The real question we're all thinking, if not asking, is whether "Good Jay" or "Bad Jay" will show up on Sunday. Given his incentive to prove that he can lead a team into the Championship Game for the first time in his career I'm gonna bet on "Good Jay". I think he and Martz have worked out a much better game plan than in their first meeting with Seattle and on top of that they have significant video on Seattles last two wins as well as the videos of their first encounter with them earlier this season. I'm gonna trust them and the defense to play the kind of game they need to play to assure that they get to the next level.
