    The Difference Maker: The OL

The real difference will be the offensive line when we played the Seahawks we had a OL that looked like this,

RT: J'Marcus Webb, a 7th round pick making his 2nd career start and was credited with 4 sacks. he has improved and his blitz pick up has improved since that time.

RG: Edwin Williams, a practice squad pick up from the Redskins making his 3rd career start and struggled.

    C: Olin Kreutz, still there.

LG: Chris Williams making his 1st career start at LG and has since improved especially in pass protection. Moving to OG is more complex mentally and he struggled to pick up.

LT: Frank Omiyale making his 5th start at LT and has improved to be our best OLmen, I know that it is not saying much this season.

This group struggled all day with the Seahawks blitz package and to the Seahawks credit it was a great plan.

Now the OL looks like this

RT: J'Marcus Webb, now making his 12th start at RT and with veteran presence Roberto Garza has cleaned up the mental busts that led to a lot of sacks. He has improved immensly over the season.

RG: Roberto Garza, he is a steady veteran presence and while he can be beat physically he cleans up the mental side of the game for the right side.

C: Olin Kreutz, with the exception of Green Bay has done a nice job of setting up protections and shut down the Jets.

LG: Chris Williams, now has 11 starts at LG and while he is still soft he has cleaned up on the protections on the inside and made less busts.

LT: Frank Omiyale, now has 14 starts at LT and has been one of the stronger pas blockers for the Bears. His highlights were shutting down Jared Allen in 2 games this season.

Good post Windy. I'd say that's a pretty accurate summation of the Oline. The only thing that disturbs me is thinking that Omiyale is the best Olineman on the team. That's a little scary and it sure shows the need for improvement this offseason.

the are gellin' like fellons, or Magellan or whatever.

I thought it was a shrewd move for Lovie to play them in GB. they needed to be in that atmosphere. As the O line goes this Sunday, so go Da Bears.
