Whats everyone thoughts on going for it 4th?

What is everyone's thoughts on going for TD's on 4th down? Obviously the situation matters, and Lovie made the right call because Cutler made a great dive over the guard to get the first and then they scored the TD after that.

I've always been one that thinks you take the points anytime its first points and you have 0 on the board (have to get on the board and get some momentum, can't have the goose egg staying on the board), or anytime you have a chance to go up "by another score". Today I wanted the FG when it was 4th down, would have put them up by 10 early which meant a 2 score lead. Lovie made the right call but just curious what everyone else's thoughts are on the situation.

depends on the situation. In our situation, it was literally inches, it was damn near the Goal line, and our defense was shutting down their offense. So in that instance, it was the right call, i had full faith that if we missed it, our defense would stop them and we would get the ball back with decent FP.

Now, if its lets say the packers in the NFCC game and its a close, back and forth battle where every point counts...then a FG would be the right call.

Your logic is so ridiculous. So it's it succeeds it's the o coordinator's faulk & if we fail it's the head coaches fault. imposible for that to be the case. it's the same persons fault for any play no matter the result. stop using any ridiculous opportunity to bash lovie when clearly that logic doesn't work

and the play was clearly determined by the opponent. we try it v the sea hawks, don't try it v the packers

It is a joke. I would have went for it on 4th down and if we failed the seahawks have to dig themselves out of the endzone. The seahawks had no running game at all.
