Actually...started in 1985 Playoffs when they lost the first 2 to edmonton, came back to Chicago, and fans cheered before, during and after the anthem to motivate the team, it worked, they won...tradition born.
Yay google.

Hub Arkish was on the the score Monday. He was saying he was on the Seattle sideline during the anthem and decided the game was over at that point. The Seahawks were all pumped up during warm up and having fun like they've been doing in past games. The crowd noise and enthusiasm, during the anthem seemed to suck the life right out of them. He was dead serious.

Lol, if you read some of the Youtube comments, it was evident the game was lost at the anthem...someone mentioned how if you look at the end of the vid, Jay Cutler put on his helmet to say "LETS DO THIS!!" While Hasselbeck simply pulled his wool cap tighter over his head if saying "brrr its cold, this sucks" lol

I hope the crowd boo's him when his name is announced. But dont boo the anthem.

Sucks that he won't be coming back for a repeat. But I whole heartedly disagree that the crowd should boo Lee. He is still a Chicago Native and it's not his fault that they picked him to sing. To that would just make us look like a bunch of assholes & Chicago is a better city than that! No need to stoop down to a Packer fan level!

Understand it won't be the same without Jim Cornelieson singing but who says the crowd can't go nuts for the anthem anyways? Think the fans should keep the tradition going and if they're loud enough they will drown out the American Idol guy.
