no reason not to, he's the key to this offense right now. Greedy or not pay that dude everything he deserves for being one of the top rb's in the league.
I've always liked the way he runs, no wasted energy.. and normally, he just hits the hole. His style reminds me of Fred Taylor.
Really? I see him dancing in the backfield way too often. I think he could go from good (or above average) to freaking awesome if he was a one cut and go guy.
Personally I think they should look into it before next season, but not do any extensions until closer to next year. I wouldn't even be opposed to him having to play out his contract. We always have the option of franchising him (unless they are planning on using that for someone else.)

Maybe in instances where there is no hole at all, he'll do it a little, but relative to other backs in the league, I don't think he dances too much. Normally, if there's something there, I think he hits it quickly.

I don't know. I see him do it a lot. I thought that on a sprint play, the run was to the cutback lane and hten hit it. No dancing, and if there is no cutback lane, then you end up out to the corner. Forte bounces. Granted, I'm not a RB coach, and never played that position, but I think it's something he could greatly improve, which would make him even better. Lets not forget that he hasn't exactly been steller, and barely mediochre until this year... since his rookie year.
After we win the SB sign him early. With a improved o-line after the draft and FA for up the middle running and no undisclosed injuries it's a no brainer.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Agree to disagree then. I think most dancing I see from him is generally from a lack of a seam rather than hesitation or lack of vision on his part (Of course he'll miss holes. I think he's good, not perfect). I find his innate style to be quick hitting and weigh a lot of past performance woes on the O-line. Also, he's only in his third season, so mediocre outside his rookie year and this year would leave just last year.

Actually, I was just looking over his stats for his career, and it looks like he's pretty much averaged the same numbers every year with the only difference being the number of carries... His average was up about a yard per carry this year though...
I won't blame it all on the o-line from what I see him do on too many occasions. Like I said, in a run play where there's no seam, the play ends up turning upfield at the corner, not dancing behind the line. Maybe it's just me, but he does that way too often when a simple cut up could have gotten 2-3 yards, he's bouncing behind the line and ends up tackled for a loss (not the o-line's fault).
He does have a lot of talent (speed/burst being the main one), he can block well and has good hands. All in all though, he hasn't really proven much to get a great deal and I wouldn't expect them to pay him as a top back. Paying someone for "potential" rarely works out, ala Devin Hester, Greg Olsen, Tommie Harris, etc.
There's a lot that I do like about him, but I'm not all hung up on him as others are. I try to be objective about it.

Yeah, I can't stand that dancing shit, lol! Leave the dancing at the club....
