*Ignore this. I read the first post wrong.
“I think he did [tarnish his legacy]. Not only this season, but the last few seasons, going back and forth [on retirement] and bouncing to a few different teams. I think about it, and I have to really think hard to think back to when he was a Green Bay Packer and when he played his best football and was in Super Bowls and when he became the Brett Favre we all know."

Forget about "quitting" all of you. He didn't but it's just another thing for the media and a bunch of retired jocks to get print and airtime over. The real question that should be discussed is whether or not Cutler can win a big game? To this point he hasn't. Not in college and not in the NFL. We needed him to out play Rodgers yesterday and he stunk up the place pure and simple.

Given the fact that the Bears defense held Rodgers to a QB rating far below his NFL leading average all we needed from Cutler was an average game and he didn't even come close even before his injury. Caleb Hanie was totally unprepared practicewise and thrown to the wolves yet he accomplished more in one quarter than Cutler could in the first half.

Forget the injury thing and stop questioning his toughness. That's not where he's lacking. Jay Cutler has an arm like a cannon and he's one of the toughest QB's in the league but it may be time to start questioning his head and heart for winning the big game. In that regard he's seriously lacking in my opinion.

Thankfully Cutler has sprained MCL, not torn

    By Vaughn McClure
    *
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler suffered an MCL sprain in his left knee during Sunday's NFC Championship Game loss to the Green Bay Packers, coach Lovie Smith confirmed Monday. But Cutler's injury is much less severe than initially reported.
    *
A sprain usually equates to some sort of tear, but the damage Cutler suffered was not a complete rupture. The injury was significant enough to keep Cutler from finishing Sunday's game, and Smith said he would have been questionable had the Bears reached the Super Bowl.

Smith strongly defended his quarterback's toughness.
    *
"Our quarterback's a tough guy," Smith said. "Showed a lot of toughness to continue to play with it. He wanted to go and tried to go the second half."
Smith emphasized that the team and medical staff kept Cutler from playing. And Smith took issue with players around the NFL taking shots at Cutler and questioning his toughness.
    *
Smith was asked if he was surprised about the condemnation of Cutler.
    *
"I haven't seen it before," he said. "Seems like if you're in that fraternity, you'd be stepping up for your fellow man."

Smith expressed confidence in Cutler moving forward.
    *
"We don't have any problems with Jay Cutler and what he brings to the table," Smith said.

Cutler underwent an MRI on Monday and was seen walking around Halas Hall after team meetings.

Brian Urlacher and Olin Kreutz had speculated after Sunday's game that Cutler had suffered an MCL injury.

thought a good comment from another board from a packer fan:

Typical knee jerk reaction where "appearance" is judged instead of substance. I'm a Packer fan and was impressed with Cutler in that final regular season game where he was sacked 6 times and took several other wicked hits. He kept getting up and competing, even though the Bears had little to play for. To think he'd play through pain in a "meaningless" game but then pull himself out of the NFCCG is ludicrous! Reminds me of all the people that used to criticize Kareem because he appeared unemotional, no matter the situation, even though his teams won. I can understand Bear fans being frustrated and wanting to blame someone but I don't get the response from around the country. Just a lot of shallow people, I guess.

I will say this though. I'm a little pissed that just as the bears seem to be putting some puzzle pieces together, the Packers are on the verge of being rediculously awesome for a decade or so. I don't like that at all.

Are all of you Packer fans members of the "ouda" clan if sheep shaggers? Rodgers didn't lose focus the Bears defense dominated him after the first drive and that was the end of his domination game right there. The Packers offense looked great on two drives and then did squat. In the 4th Q a 3rd string QB who's never thrown one regular season pass passed the livin' shit out of your defense and you can only say you c...."ouda" dominated?

You listen to Joe Buck way too much.

Fact : Some of u are as gullible as 10yr olds
Fact : The media isn't fooling anybody (with half a brain) when they make negative comments about Cutler
Fact : All the BS has backfired on the media and has actually made his teammates rally around him
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Thats what happens when your organization is run well, you end if with a dominating team for some time, like the Packers, Steelers, Pats, Colts.

Instead, we get a medicore-ran organization that enjoys flirting with greatness in between bouts of medicority

Fact: some of us werent at the game and based our opinions on what we saw on tv since thats all we had to go on
Fact: Cutler still played shitty, even before he was injured
Fact: Nobody needed the "media" to say anything, our opinions were formed from what we saw, not what we heard
