The media will take anything and exaggerate it, they all want a big story and have to write about something.

Why would they have had the same game plan to beat a 3rd string qb w/almost no experience as to beat a guy that when he has time can be one of the best in the game? That is not to say they weren't blitzing or pressuring Haine though; just not a need to do so as much as Cutler. You drop guys back and try and confuse a young kid.

so the packers 13 year run w/o a sb apperance until now "cuts it" for you as a well run organization.. but the bears making the sb in 2006 and having 58 wins and 3 NFC titles to the packers 50 wins and one NFCN title over the last 6 years doesn't cut it for you.. very interesting! how have the packes been he more dominent team?
How are they more dominating; remember after the SB appearance how we used the excuse that we got hit w/the injury bug and that is why we didn't make it back to the playoffs? Well since then they disgarded a HoF qb, and this year have 15 guys in IR; 2 of them their starting RB and TE; and a couple more starters from their D. And they are now in the SB. That is dominating; if they had been as healthy as us they would have crushed us.

They also have more SB/Championships then us. Wins is nice, but at the end of the day, it's about the ships you have on your wall.

After reading further into the thread, I saw you'd apologized, etc...so I deleted my post. It sucks that we lost the NFC Championship game to our most bitter rivals. It can't hurt worse for us fans. But these players are hurting as well. I think we all forget that they are human at times. I just called you on the fact that you claimed to be feeling worse than the players, implying that they didn't give a rats arse.
First, I never meant to imply or suggest the players don't feel bad about losing...I am sure they do...I am sure we all feel bad, fan and player alike...a pissing match as to who feels worse is pointless...

Yes, the players are human...just as we all are...which has sorta been my point all along...last night some of us had a very human reaction to an extremely bitter, painful and emotionally charged situation...things were said in the heat of the moment that upon further review and by the light of the day, we later regretted...many of us walked those comments back hours/posts ago...yet were those apologizes meet with understanding, empathy and and acceptance? Hardly, they were meet with more insults, accusations and brow beating...Hell, they weren't even acknowledged until now...thank you for that (sincerely)....

I am sick of attacking other fans; I am sick of other fans attacking me...we're all in pain, we're sad, angry, disappointed, and this pointless bickering and self-righteous one-upmanship isn't easing it a damn thing, and I for one I am done with it...

Reductio ad absurdum...it's how we roll...

FWIW, I was absolutely stunned when he didn't come back into the game. I understand sitting during games in November or October but in January, if you can walk, you can play.

We've all witnessed QBs get hurt during games and refuse medical attention, stay away from the coaches, or even wave coaches and trainers off. All of this is part of the effort made to NOT be benched. From what I saw, Cutler did NONE of these things. It is hard to think that Cutler did anything but quit. Equally difficult is reconciling the beating Cutler almost always got up from over the course of this football season! I just don't know. Now that all of us are aware that he has an MCL sprain, for me it puts Cutler is a horrible position because we've all seen players "play through" and Cutler wasn't allowed or didn't play through. I just don't get it at all. This was easily the biggest football game of his life & he doesn't claw, fight, & scratch to get back in there to support his teammates, his coaches, & his organization? Again, I just don't get it.

As far as the comments made by his peers online... I don't think that is a reflection of Cutler's toughness. I agree with the article written above... I think that has more to do with how he is liked and/or perceived around the league. It really seems like the Bears have a douche for a QB. As a Laker fan, I can totally relate because the Lakers had Kobe Bryant and he was probably the biggest douche in sports for a long time. The one thing that I could always say about Bryant though was that it was championships that mattered to him. You could see it in how he worked tirelessly year after year to develop his game and get better. I am hopeful that the same can be said about Cutler. Simply stated, at the end of the day, being a douche doesn't matter. Winning is what matters.

Reports I've read said a level 2 MCL tear..
My understanding of the injury,is that it isn't as painful as others;the joint is unstable and unpredictable.
For those that say "man up",sure go ahead and play him.
Then you can answer for the fact that Cutler is done for good.
We wanted our team to show well, they didn't,deal.
    I have enjoyed the ride,unsteady and uneven as it's been;
but don't think for one minute that I bought into all these dreamy scenarios
that we were going to play in the SB.
This team is still flawed in a lot of areas,
my question is can the management and coaching staff get the job done?
I'm not sure with the current crew.

The Bears season has come to an end and while most observers would agree that the better team won Sunday’s NFC Championship game the end result is not the biggest story coming out of the game. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is having his toughness questioned by not only the Chicago fan base but surprisingly by fellow NFL players who have taken to Twitter to crush him.

I am not a Cutler fan and never have been dating back to his days in Denver when his petulant act started to gain national attention. Is he a talented guy? Absolutely. Cutler has a big arm and all of the physical gifts one could want to play quarterback. However, playing quarterback as a Type 1 diabetic and being sacked more than any other quarterback in the NFL and missing only one start in five seasons should answer all of the questions about his toughness. The critics who are firing from their couch are ridiculous.

Cutler lacks the intangibles and winning persona that I believe is necessary to be a big time winner in the NFL. I know that many fans could care less how Cutler deals with the media. I understand their opinion but what they fail to realize is that the way he conducts himself in media sessions and the way he comes across are all part of a larger problem that makes me believe that he will never be a championship level QB.

Can you count on Cutler when the chips are down and you really have to step up and rally the troops? I don’t believe so. Is he the biggest problem on the roster? Far from it. The Bears have to address a terrible offensive line, a vastly overrated and under-performing wide receiver corps, and a very suspect defensive backfield. However, if all of those areas are upgraded is Cutler the man who can take the Bears all the way and win a Super Bowl?

At this point in time I don’t believe so. Playing quarterback his track record speaks for itself and it is not a track record that instills faith in even the most diehard Bears fan that Cutler is now or can become an elite quarterback. Is there a better option out there for the Bears to pursue at this point in time? Probably not, which means that Cutler better look in the mirror and realize he has to change his act and it better start now.

Love how these reporters play both sides of the fence in some of these articles. Kaplan is one of the biggest worry-warts in the Chicago media when it comes to how well an athlete treats them. On the one hand he says that Cutler is talented and has all the attributes that a QB needs to be sucessful. But he won't be able to take this team to a Super Bowl and win it because of how he treats the media ? WHAT ?! What a weird conclusion to draw. By this "logic", if Cutler had been on the 85 Bears they wouldn't have won the SB ( because of the way he treats the media and because he lacks the intangibles ). Intangibiles is a word the media uses to imply that there is " something missing " but they never have the cojones to actually exactly define what they mean when they use this ambiguous fancy word. If Cutler had several All-Pros on the O-line ( like McMahon had ) think he wouldn't be able to shred defences ? The TEAM wins a Super Bowl when they ALL are good enough. This article is nothing more then a member of the media using a current opportunity to bash a player / person he personally doesn't like. So take it for what it is ......... garbage.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?
