Um, ya know Cutler would've been questionable for the Super Bowl, so all this "he should have come back" is rubbish.
Another Note, we live in a new age of football, where you're expected to win NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! and if you don't, or don't have all the hype coming out of college, and live up to it, you're fuggin' garbage. There's so many quarterbacks of the past that took a LONG time to get over the "hump" (Elway at 37, anyone?), and so many coaches that take forever to win the big one (Cowher anyone? Interesting fact, Shannahan had a better record in his last season with the Broncos than Cowher did with the Steelers, and look how he's turning the redskins around) that we should look at history as a gauge on how to deal with players and coaches. If Lovie were really garbage, he'd be just like Wannstedt, who really didn't take long to show he was a nobody. If the Bears fans are gonna start booing Cutler and Lovie at the onset next year, then those "fans" deserve nothing good.

Jimmy Johnson said Cutler needs to get a better attitude and correct some of his mechanics and he would be one of the best in the game. I find that to be a fair assessment. He is damn good now, but he can be better, if he's willing to work at it.
What this guy is telling us is the same situation that killed Barry Bonds, who also had a shitty attitude toward the media; which is the guys primary outlet to the fanbase. PR 101, if you can get the media to like you, chances are so will the fans. Bonds treats the media better, he doesn't get slammed for "possibly" being on the juice. Cutler treat the media better he doesn't get jumped for everything from his attitude to his mechanics to his jerk face to him quitting.

What will you do now that "the flasher" is retiring?
Steelers should win this one, but it will be close enough to be entertaining.

We've all witnessed QBs get hurt during games and refuse medical attention, stay away from the coaches, or even wave coaches and trainers off. All of this is part of the effort made to NOT be benched. From what I saw, Cutler did NONE of these things. It is hard to think that Cutler did anything but quit. Equally difficult is reconciling the beating Cutler almost always got up from over the course of this football season! I just don't know. Now that all of us are aware that he has an MCL sprain, for me it puts Cutler is a horrible position because we've all seen players "play through" and Cutler wasn't allowed or didn't play through. I just don't get it at all. This was easily the biggest football game of his life & he doesn't claw, fight, & scratch to get back in there to support his teammates, his coaches, & his organization? Again, I just don't get it.
As far as the comments made by his peers online... I don't think that is a reflection of Cutler's toughness. I agree with the article written above... I think that has more to do with how he is liked and/or perceived around the league. It really seems like the Bears have a douche for a QB. As a Laker fan, I can totally relate because the Lakers had Kobe Bryant and he was probably the biggest douche in sports for a long time. The one thing that I could always say about Bryant though was that it was championships that mattered to him. You could see it in how he worked tirelessly year after year to develop his game and get better. I am hopeful that the same can be said about Cutler. Simply stated, at the end of the day, being a douche doesn't matter. Winning is what matters.
Ever try to ride a bicycle when the chain is off ? Impossible isn't it ? Same thing when a part of your anatomy isn't hooked up right. The guys leg was screwed ......... so the first half of ur post doesn't hold water. At all.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

I watch Dave Kaplan on Chicago Tribune live via DirecTV. I don't respect the guy because he has an ax to grind. He has a point about Cutler not being media friendly, but as stated so well above, do you really need that to win championships? I'd rather see Jay work on his footwork and consistency than his TV smile and media responses.

Hmm, Cutler is usually unresponsive to critics, and the Jets come out and curse them up and down, and they're media darlings. I think it's a combo of a cultural thing and the fact that the Jets are the "Hey look at me!!!" crowd, whereas the Bears just keep to themselves mostly.

I'm stunned that none of you understand simple Public Relations. And yes it matters in professional sports, this is more then winning and losing, there are millions of dollars at stake, and PR is why people love some guys that are comlpete scum, and why some good guys are treated like shit. Winning also helps; the guy needs to pull off another year like he had this year, and not end up playing like shit at the end, even in a losing effort. Playing strong, and finishing strong will go a long way to silencing his critics.
