rather have wind at back to end the game than start it, which is what happens when we defer to the 2nd 1/2..granted a FG didn't matter at end, but its the correct strategy at Soldier field.
of all the calls sunday, this one isn't a bad one or wrong
and of course if we took the ball first and it came down to a LOng Fg and robbie missed it just short, the same hindsight would be killing lovie for not putting wind as back in 4th quarter

Only way to beat the packers is to get a bigger receiver who is really good and get a great roaming safety who is really smart and athletic. Oh, and some pass protection so maybe your QB can stay healthy and have time to throw once in a while. Probably the O-line is the biggest concern. Get 2 guys who can mash in there whos a mean son of a bitch.
Sorry guys. Better luck next year.
Shredded?... what was his passer rating??? 0 TD's and 2 int's?... our 3rd string at least FOUND the Endzone. pack won yeah. but you take away that pick 6 by Raji, and it's a tie game dude.
domination?... you guys almost got beat by our 3rd stringer, and Rodgers 55.4 passer rating is quite a turnaround from ATL.
domination??? are you SERIOUS??... you won. and not by much. get off the drugs.

True, but if you noticed in the season, there were many times where they didnt kick it into gear until the 2nd half. Many games it looked like we were going to lose the game based on our 1st half performance, only to see them make some adjustments at the half and come out with the win, playing as a better team in the 2nd half.
I agree about not falling behind early, i even said that we needed to score first...but i was under the assumption that our D was up to task to shut them down, i mean hell...week 17 they didnt allow a single point until the 3rd quarter, and that was when the game was meaningless to us. So, the D just dropped the ball in the first half, played like crap.

Not that I feel like talking about this anymore; but I thought it was good info to have. A friend of mine said NFL network rewatched the whole game to find when Cutler got injured, and said it was when he fumbled the ball. Said you could see that his whole body was on the ground except for his knee and leg. So with some research they were able to isolate when hit happened. If Fox had bothered to do the same a lot of issues that came up would have never happened.

Exactly. I gave up on most threads trying to justify my opinions at the time because everything i wanted to say was already said by Wolfman or Benji or others...NUMEROUS times, the only thing that changed were the people coming in to display their rage on those of us who already admitted we were wrong and got over it already.
Plus, it is getting annoying because its taking away from discussing the issues we SHOULD have been debating all along...Jays poor play prior to being injured, the poor show from our Defense in the first quarter, our craptacular OL. But instead, people wanna discuss old news. go figure.

you ALWAYS want the ball at half.
if your down early it gives your the opportunity to take some chances/put points up before the half knowing you get ball back.
if your up, it gives you the opportunity to put your foot on their throat or take them out of the game completely.

I Agree w/Phil/Benji. Don't let THAT O get a chance to get momentum. Let Rodgers cool off from the warmups, and have a little pressure on him if we score first. Also don't let their D have any chance of being able to pin their ears back b/c their O gives them the lead.

For the record...just about EVERYONE here who called Jay out for "quitting" have admitted we were wrong. What more does anyone want? Because obviously that doesnt seem good enough, since people are STILL harping on about it. We get it...everyone is frustrated, and if it makes some of you feel better to use those who called him a quitter as punching bags to vent YOUR frustration, then i guess have at it, just realize the longer you guys go on about this nonsense, the more ridiculous YOU become. Get over it already.
It takes a big person to apologize and It's frankly good to see. I respect the opinions of many posters on this board, even when I don't agree with them. That's why it's fun to visit and participate.
We have work to do in the off season to get back to the NFC Championship game. 2010 was a great year for the Bears. With all the issues facing this team going into the season they rose to the occasion and outperformed my expectations for this team. Losing to the Packers in the NFC Championship game is a tough pill to swallow; however, I am glad that we finally faced the Packers with so much on the line. Over the past 40 years, are teams have been good and sometimes great, but never at the same time. I look forward to the 2011 battles with the Packers.
