No doubt he failed to come up any new game plan. He expected his team to just show up.. that's not a coach that's an idiot..
Our players came out flat.. that's on lovie .. every big loss this year has been the SAME issue with being flat..

I thought Martz was ok with what he had but I think Rod Marinelli is not a good DC. Dom Capers called great game plan on disrupting the bears offense. He did this week 17 and he did it again in the biggest game between the bears/packers.
i dunno...sure the Bears D started out rough, but they made adjustments and shot down this "prolific" Packers offense. I mean hell, Rodgers didnt even have a TD pass, no scores in the 2nd half. And this is the mighty packers offense theyve gone on and on about for a week now.Quote:

I think Marinelli does a good job, problem is: GB's WR > Bears Secondary. We need a FS and another CB to compliment Pnut. Urlacher and Peppers played very well, Briggs made some nice plays, they forced 2 INTs on Rodgers, which also was how many we had on him during the regular season, and when you consider he only threw like 12 i think all year, that says alot about our D.
So no, ill disagree about Marinelli. Rough start, but made adjustments.

Are you insane? True, Marinelli didn't have the proper game plan to properly contest Aaron Rodgers in the first half, but Jesus, he made adjustments like any good coach would and would up shutting out the Packers' offense in the second half. I guesstimate that had Caleb Hanie not thrown the pick-six to Raji in the fourth quarter, and had he still thrown that bomb to Earl Bennett for the touchdown to bring the score to 14-14 (instead, of course, 21-14), that last drive by the Bears would have given us the victory by dent of a Robbie Gould field goal. Mike Martz made some boneheaded decisions today, but Marinelli was as good as gold.Quote:

Marinelli didn't have the proper game plan? How many years does a DC need to be in the league before he has the proper game plan? Second our offense was non existant for most of the game so why should the packers even try to score and take chances when their defense is playing great and Todd Collins is playing? Third, you can't say we would have tied the game if it were not for the Raji INT and score. We would have been punting from inside our 20 and giving the packers good field position. I doubt the packers would have gone to the prevent defense if it were still a 1 score game. Dom Capers on the other hand is a good DC and he made great plays to disrupt our offense.Quote:
