Can hit the draft before we panic. we got good Ends in Izzy and pep, but there is nothing wrong with looking for a young DE to develop.
do you all REALLY want to wait till pep retires before we look?...
I'm betting we draft O-line early this year. possibly a FA pick up as well. the line WILL be adressed. patience.

Oh, i have patience. Which is why this is nothing more then an amusing little anecdote for me atm. Because we all know...if they DONT address the OL, heads are going to roll.

If they don't make the team and they are just fodder and competition then inject the greatest amount of competition towards the greatest need. I do think JA can find trash can gold with defensive picks however if it all "starts up front" as he says then at least pay lip service to the other side of the ball. There are just as much decent fodder on OL as there is on DL.
This reminds me of when they picked up the arena league DE then cut him a few weeks later when the OL was getting posterized.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

The Bears signed six players from their eight-man practice squad to futures contracts Monday.
Offensive linemen Johan Asiata and Levi Horn, linebackers Chris Johnson and Patrick Trahan, cornerback K.J. Gerard and fullback Eddie Williams were signed, meaning they now are on the 80-man roster for the offseason. .
Previously, the Bears announced that defensive tackle Tank Tyler, quarterback Matt Gutierrez and wide receiver Onrea Jones were signed to futures deals. The Tribune reported that defensive end Nick Reed, a former seventh-round draft pick by the Seattle Seahawks when Bears' director of personnel Tim Ruskell was the general manager there, signed with the Bears last week. The club announced the signing Tuesday

I see a lot of familiar names. Some I remember as having some potential. some look new.
either way, it's nice to see we're getting busy. the offseason is still young. we have FA, the Draft... all that.

Asiata was the #1 all the way up until pre-season. I was curious what happend, and if there is a future for the guy. the articles I read say's he has a real mean side, and LOVES to just wail on people. if anyone can mold a linemen it's tice, so we'll see if the guys got talent or not.

Asiata a work on progress, didn't play high school or college ball until 2 years at UNLV..so his learning curve VERY different, but has the size you like and nastiness
Horn another of the "tice type guys".. a 6'7'' 328 behemouth guard... went to montana and was in camp but didn't make final cut
ran a 5.122 in his 40 at combine which for size pretty impressive FWIW
