The 2009 Draft Review

I thought that we should take a look at the drafts from the previous two years to see how we have done and the contributions that we have seen.

3. DE Jarron Gilbert [F]

An awful pick that did nothing in a Bears uniform and was picked instead of players that could have helped in more important areas.

3. WR Jaquin Iglesias [F]

Not as bad as Gilbert because at least another team thought enough of him to steal him and try and develop him.

4. DE Henry Melton

He contributed this year and looks like a nice option at either DT or DE and has a pass rush.

4. CB D.J Moore [A]

He is a very good CB and had 4 picks and returned a couple for touchdowns.

5. WR Johnny Knox [A]

He is not a #1 but he is a #2 that can go deep and almost eclipsed 1000 yards recieving.

5. LB Marcus Freeman [F]

Awful.

6. S Al Afalava [F]

Awful.

7. OG Lance Louis [C+]

He started this year and physically looks like he can start in the NFL, needs more coaching.

[B]7. WR Derek Kinder [F]

Did not even notice him.

The draft to me is a C. The draft produced Henry Melton, D.J Moore and Johnny Knox who ware key members of the team and their success.
