Oh well, Doug Flutie did well in the CFL and then came back down and had a decent career with the Buffalo Bills. Maybe we can get some value out of Andy Fantuz.
I'm sure he's not making any great sum of money. Which is probably why JA signed him.

I don't know enough about offensive lines, but that does sound weird that they would put Frank Omiyale at RT and J'Marcus Webb at LT. I would prefer to wait and see what we get out of free agency and the draft first before I'm willing to tinker too much with players who began developing at certain positions.

They wouldn't. Webb and Omiyale may not even be in the NFL next year, let alone "fixtures". Theirs is the kind of suckage that doesn't get better. If they start next season, it's not because they are good, but because our staff is as dumb as Webb.

I think there might be something there with J'Marcus Webb, but I know for a fact that I've seen more than my fair share of sacks out of the left side of the OL. Omiyale was awful, but Webb actually got to be pretty decent by the end of the season. I'm eager to see what comes out of him come training camp, but with OMG, I think he might be a serviceable backup at best.

Sounds like he's a humble guy.

I think you find a left guard and put Williams back at the spot he was drafted to play. Cut Webb and find a guy who can move his feet. Omiyale can come sit on my back porch and I'll use him as an ashtray. Be the most usefull he's been in 5 years.
Webb didn't get decent, they altered the gameplan to cover up the things he couldn't do. You cannot hobble an offense for consecutive years because of a seventh rounder who will never get any better. Do that and Cutler will get the record for most sacked.
Martz knows this and isn't going to let his career go down with this ship.
And I think he proved that week 17. When he proved he cannot run his offense with what he has.

Would you keep Webb as a serviceable backup, then, or just out and out cut him? He's a better OT than Omiyale, and he at least has gargantuan size in his favor. I think he has some use for this team, even though he's not the most talented RT in the world.

Looks like he's played some hockey (check out the nose), which is may explain why he seems to play tough based on the the vids of him.

Webb as a backup? Sure.
As for his size, there are alot of really large guys in the world never got a paycheck from the NFL. If this whole "getting big" thing was the way to go in todays NFL, Webb wouldn't have been there in the 7th round. I know everyone loves Tice, and is all giddy about him building an O-line. But the guy is living in the past, and someone should remind him that his past doen't include a championship so...
