Maybe Haynesworth will like to play on one of the tops defenses in the league instead a bottom tier defense like Washington. That was the insentive for Peppers.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!

Sounds good in theory, but with a nutcase like haynesworth, theory is out the Window and need serious cap protection and incentives to keep him in line- its a risk, but just trhowing it out to consider

I've noticed that Philadelphia is looking to trade Kevin Kolb, but can't do so until the CBA has been resolved. Anyone know if the Bears would be interested in signing him as a potential back up for Cutler?

I know from his playing days here in Knoxville at the University of Tennessee, Albert Haynesworth was a beast. It's sad that he acts so crazy on the football field. I would be willing to pick him up, but I would make the terms to contract such that if he stepped out of line one time, he would be gone.

Kolb wants to start not play back up.. no chance chicago would be in mix, teasm that need starters like clev, carolina,Raiders, niners etce tc would be where he is looking or looking to trade with eagles.

That's a shame that there's no chance that the Bears would be in the hunt for his services. I wish that Kerry Collins were available in the offseason. I would love to make a trade for him to be our back up. We'd have the best cache of quarterbacks in the league then.

have no problem with just going with hanie as the back up and some 3rd stringer to develop nd use the qb $$$ on another position, ie Oline, DT or WR

Yes to Hanie as the #2 QB. As I've posted before I watched this guy play on several occassions when he was at CSU and when the Bears signed him as a FA I was thrilled. He's got the goods to be a very good backup to Cutler and considering Cutler's durability he really won't get many chances. Still, you all saw what he could do with almost no preparation in the Championship Game.
He's got a very good arm, mobility and decent size. I don't see him as a developmental prospect. At this point in time I think he's proven that he has a place on an NFL roster. I'd say that we need to keep him at all costs and then sign another rookie FA to develop.
I've had it with expensive vets who are beyond their prime and can no longer produce.
I'm afraid that we've seen the last of Danieal Manning in a Bears uni. He has enough going for him to attract an offer that will probably be more than the Bears would likely offer. So long Danieal, it's been a thrill. On the other hand I'd make a strong move to resign Corey Graham. The guy is a monster ST guy and we can use his depth in the defensive backfield. Give him a chance to compete with Jennings and Bowman for a starting CB job or give him a shot at safety in replacement of Manning. He'll be a cheaper option than Manning at any rate.

Like how Cliff Stein/Angelo do business with the Contracts
they have already made offer's to the UFA's they want to keep in december, and so far only mannelly and big toe accepted- but have left the lines open for communication. They have a price they will pay for manning and graham and if they can do better- so be it, they will not chase them( ie letting berrian go when got to dumb money), and if they find the Market doesn't agree worth more( ie briggs coming back) and offers the saem they will be back.. It takes the emotion out

And while still in the hot Air and bluster stage of CBA negotiations..
Seems even the Union admits they ripped off owners, which was suprised to see mawae say this..
Kevin Mawae: Tweet Everyone in the
NFL believes the players got a
Sweetheart Deal on the last
Collective Bargaining agreement brokered between former commissioner Paul Tagliabue and the late union chief Gene Upshaw.

To me this means at the end of the day the cap will be Flat or down from 2009( $128 mill), which means for teams that have a few big stars with bloated deals, players like manning and graham may not be getting the 'windfall" they expect as league is setting up almost a 2 tier system of big star salaries and lower "medium" salary for the guys you need on team, but aren't stars
