I just got Back from the game. I didn't see any jerseys on fire.
2 thoughts on what's being made, bysome, as scapegoats:
1. How people can be irate at Cutler and not the o-line is beyond me.
2. Don't bitch about Lovie's time out call. Bitch about the 3rd down end-around that followed it.

Stupid is as stupid does....
Continue to shake my head at the reactions of the fans after the loss. Plenty of blame to go around for this loss. But typical in this day and age, we want to find one person to blame. IMO, Martz had some questionable calls today. We got away from the run early in the game too. That 3rd and 2 play on the last drive was questionable, IMO. We still don't have an answer for GB's CB blitz. Why doesn't Knox go up and compete for the jump balls? Why weren't there more plays called for Olsen?
The defenses we called on GB's 1st 2 drives were also questionable. We were playing off their receivers which allowed Rodgers to make some easy throws. There was some sloppy tackling early as well.
Were was Brad Manyard today? He had a very bad game. Our special teams coverage was pretty good today, but our return game was terrible.
I could come up with more, but one player does not win or lose a game. Today sucked. I'm proud of the way this team continued to compete today. We never gave up and were within one score with the ball on GB's 30 yard line until the final interception. There were many good things to take from this season. I know we're all disappointed in how it ended, especially losing to GB, but I think we had a very successful season.

Maynard had a bad game? I thought he only had one bad punt. That bad punt went 25 yards, and he was still averaging about 40 some yards with all umpteen of his punts.
I would say he had a good game

I think we should give Cutler the benefit of the doubt. I doubt seriously that a quarterback of his caliber would have given up like that so easily.
I will say this, however. I think Cutler would have won us the game in the second half if he didn't throw any interceptions.

He is of the same caliber as favre, and he pulled the same things fans are claiming Cutler did.

Compare him to Masthay who kept pinning us in our own end, plus, Brad wasn't punting well enough to help dig us out of any holes. I know he's a great directional punter, but when we kept our 3 and outs early in the game, he wasn't booming any punts reversing field position.

Maynard could have done that as well, if he was punting from the same distance from the goal line.
Maynard is good, but he cant punt 60-80 yards.

Yeah, GB Punter kept kicking from Midfield there abouts, Maynard was always back behind the 20
*edit...not saying the GB didnt do a good job, because he did...but he just happened to have less field to punt it in.

Maynard was, in fact, stuck behind the Bears' own 20 yard line most of the game, but on the one or two occasions I saw that he had the opportunity to pin the Packers deep, he did so beautifully. I think he was right at 50% for pinning the Packers inside the 10 yard line during the course of the game, when he had the opportunity to do so.

1. Absolutely. It's been the team's Achilles Heel all season, despite the improvements after the bye. It's a line built for road grading (and the run game bears this out), not pass protection. They did a helluva job improving as the season went, but it still needs dire attention during the off-season.
2. Agree again. You can argue about 'if it had been executed better' or whatever else you can think of, as it maybe becoming successful. But the game was on the line. It was an 'effed-up' call.
