Free Agent WR: Who would you sign?

First we are going to eliminate the top level of free agent WRs Vincent Jackson and Sidney Rice. Both will be exceptionally expensive and may get franchise tagged,

Of the remaining free agent WRs who would you want and why?

    Braylon Edwards [53/904/7]

    Santonio Holmes [52/746/6]

    Malcolm Floyd [37/717/6]

    Mike Sims-Walker [43/562/7]

    James Jones [50/679/5]

    Steve Smith, Giants [48/529/3]

Smith (when not missing half a season) is a QBs best friend. Though, I think there will be alot of interest in him.
Plus he's really not what this team should be looking at.

Yeah, I don't know that any of the others really improve on what we have.

To me a guy like Braylon Edwards is an upgarde and something that we do not have. Edwards is inconsistent from time to time, but he has the ability to attack the ball and provide a physical safety net that Jay could use.

I would love Vincent Jackson, but I really think that he is going to need 10 million a season and he comes with baggage.

I'd bet the Jets would try to keep either Holmes or Edwards. Holmes i'd take in a heartbeat. If, somehow Brad Smith were cut by the Jets, I'd snatch him up, as he'd be able to replace Daniel Manning on kick returns and if we MUST keep using the wildcat, he's actually good at it and is pretty good at everything he's asked. Brad Smith love aside, it all depends on if we get a more functional offensive line. If we are good at o-line, let's get the home run threat, if not try to get somebody we could get the ball to quickly, that doesn't get jammed at the line.

Edwards would fit alot better in what Carolina is going to do than the Martz offense. And I would not be shocked if that's where he winds up.

Edwards might look like Shaquille O'Neal in this receiving corps, but I wouldn't classify him as a physical, safety net kind of guy.

I think in the playoffs he showed that he can go up and get the ball when it is in the air. He is not Vincent Jackson, but then again he will cost half as much.
