Should OL be our #1 free agent target?

The more I think about the upcoming offseason I am starting to think that our free agent budget needs to be spent on the OL and save the draft for WR and DT.

-Our OL is way worse then our WR core and free agents are far more assured of having an impact then a draft pick.

ex. Jared Gaither is a more sure thing then Derek Sherrod.

-Jay Cutler has been sacked over 80 times in the last 2 years and his health has begun to suffer with the concussion and the knee.

ex. We cannot wait for a rookie OL talent to become and impact player as it could mean another 40 sacks on Jay Cutler.

-The OL free agent class is much better then the WR class as Vincent Jackson has baggage and Sidney Rice has an injury history.

I think that our free agent money should be spent on the OL as Logan Mankins has a more positive impact then a Vincent Jackson. You cannot get the ball to Vincent Jackson when Jay is on the side line icing down his knee.

yes please. I say we do both; get the FA to get the instant impact we need, and the OL for the future. Remember the SB was b/c of FA OL talent, but b/c that worked so well we basically put the OL on the backseat of the Draft.

Which option is better for Jay Cutler,

    OG Logan Mankins [FA]
    WR Torrey Smith [Draft]

    or

    WR Vincent Jackson [FA]
    OT Derek Sherrod [Draft]

Now Derek Sherrod could be really good, but he cannot be counted on as an upgrade at our weakest position and the position that cost us the NFC Championship.

Yes, we have the worst OL in the league and MUST upgrade at any cost. Keep Cutler healthy, keep him on his feet, give him time to throw and we will go far!

In order to have a successful offseason, IMHO, we HAVE to land one quality FA OL and grab one early in the draft. Yes, I can pretty much measure our success upon those two things alone despite the holes at CB, DT #1 WR and need for youth behind our LBs.

OL is for sure where we need some help. Every QB we seem to get rid of does good on other teams so lets start with our front 5

    Sign

OG Davin Joseph [Tampa Bay] former Pro Bowler.

    Draft

    1[29] WR Torrey Smith [Maryland]
    2[61] OT/OG Marcus Cannon [TCU]

    Would this work for you?
