I don't think it's really necessary as of now to have this topic, seeing how the lockout is a BIG possibility and there's no definitive answer on a salary cap...

hence the "estimated" cap number and as we have many different threads about free agents( fitz, o line ,wr's etc etc) already, it does seem a very relevant topic despite the lockout talk. And if going to talk about Free Agents might as well be accurate about the numbers, don't you think? so don't have that wacky stuff that yahoo did which was 100% incorrect

I don't think anyone here is really going crazy on salary cap talk. Everyone pretty much gets that at best, we'll sign one, maybe 2 decent to quality FA's and spend the rest of the money on draft picks.

I like the cap thread. It puts in perspective how much of fantasy land scenarios people come up with to get players are complete bullshit when facts stare you in the face. I hope they use the cap space to get a gold star player like we did with Peppers last year. We need a signing like that for the offense in the worst way. Prove to Cutler we are there to help him succeed. Any help we get the guy can show him we are serious of getting the critics off his back

    Bowman- Sissy who won't hit
Tommy H.- Playing on 1 leg = too expensive
Harrison- Disappeared. Unless there's more to the story, bye
Manumaleuna- Overweight TE who doesn't block like he should for the money being paid, bye
    Shaffer-2mil for a backup, bye
Tillman-5.8mil ? Alot to pay for a few punch-out fumbles and slightly above average CB play
    Forte- Way underpaid / appreciated
C Harris- Overpaid for the 'production' we get

Think the Pats would hesitate to dump some of these guys ? Some of this money can be better spent.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

First of all, Chris Harris was one of the missing links we needed in the secondary for the previous three seasons. Without him, we went no where. Tillman is still a solid CB, though I agree he gets paid a ton of money. Peanut is a leader on this team, so we need him. I can't believe you would say that about Chris Harris. The guy has been a major force on the Bears defense this season, yet people feel like because he isn't in the Pro Bowl or an All-Pro, he's worthless as shit.
