Thread: First Look: 2011 Chicago Bears offense

The Bears will be one of the teams looking at Plaxico Burress when his prison stint finishes, and others like Roy Williams from Dallas or the Jets’ Braylon Edwards will be under consideration.

None of those thrill me; of the three Braylon would be the one I would be interested in. Roy is just crap, ask anyone in Det or Dallas, plax has been wasting away in prison and was a head case before that...no no and NO to either of those guys.

They better tender Haine and make him the back up, regardless of what Martz wants....Todd tried to cost us the Carolina game, and probably did the GB NFCC game. Haine would have/did do better in both of those games.

yeah unless Todd had incriminting pictures of martz makes no sense why he would ever keep him as the #2

LOL, yeah if you could call it that. I'd say it was more that he followed Forte's running to that win.

I don't know why Tice would even think of moving Webb to LT. He's the second coming of "Big Cat" Williams and monster strong run blocker who's a little suspect against good pass rushers at this point in time. He's about as prototypical a RT as you'd be likely to find.

Omiyale and Williams both lack the power and size to move bodies the way that Webb can. They're basically "finesse" type guys who are better pass blockers than they are run blockers. They may work out in a zone blocking scheme but they're not the kind of "big body" people movers that Tice seems to prefer.

As for FA wideouts the only one mentioned that I'd look at is Braylon Edwards and then only if the guy would take a sweeheart deal with a lot of incentives. His inconsistency bothers me. The main reason I'm opposed to Burress has nothing to do with his prison sentence. Frankly I thought imprisoning a guy for shooting himself accidentally just seems ridiculous to me. I just can't see him as a fit on team that emphasizes character as much as the Bears do.

If they do sign him you'd probably never find him at one of Lovie's Home Bible Studies.
