Man, I wish I were old enough to have gotten to watch those guys back in the 1980s. Those were special players. Now if we can just get Jay Hilgenberg and Jim Covert nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, that would be sweet!

Thank god. Earlier when I typed in Richard Dent news, it said he didn't get in, which is odd that a news report from a long time ago was presented. Oh well, my personal boycott is over, wooooooo hooooooooo!!!

Just confirming what Bears fans have known for more than twenty years. Congrats, big guy, on the long overdue induction.

Now on a side note, we lost our d-line coach, didn't we? Wasn't he trying to be Singletary's d-line coach? I've no clue if he'd be up to snuff, but anyone have any idea on that?

Richard Dent, as a defensive line coach? I think that Lovie Smith would shit if he thought he was going to hire another face off of that '85 Bears team. I think part of the reason he and Jerry Angelo fired Chico was because of the fact that he had connections to mid-1980s Bears teams that were so great, and as I recall, Lovie and JA wanted to go on a movement that steered clear of those players. I would personally love to see Richard Dent come in and coach the Bears' defensive line, but somehow, I don't think it would fly in the face of convention based on the personnel we have in Halas Hall and as our head coach.

Dent was great, but no way do I want him or Singletary or any of those guys as coaches. Great players don't automatically mean great coaches.

And they don't automaticly mean bad coaches either. If he's qualified, and a head coach thinks enough of him to hire him, I cannot understand why you would be against it. So much as to say there is "no way I would want him". That actually makes no sense whatsoever.
