Yeah, and thats the sadness of alcoholism. It's an illness that has always proven tough to recover from. The fact that he kicked it for a while when his sister was caring for him and he went to AA proves that with help it can be overcome. The real problem though is that he began drinking again when he was still very ill. Alcohol does more damage after you've stopped and started again than it would ordinarily do if you had just kept drinking.

exactly, simply tragic andhe knows it and still tries to justify it. Agree sadly will not be here much longer
