Why do you want them to release moore?, he was a playmaker at kansas state, everyone knew a project and would need 1-2 years to get to NFL , like his aggresiveness, but obviously needed a year of weight room to be ready for NFL:

    Overview
Wearing jersey number 4 at KSU takes chutzpah, as Terence Newman was a star in that jersey during his career in Manhattan. But Moore's honorable-mention All-Big 12 play on the corner the past two years certainly showed he has pro potential.

Moore led the team in tackles as a sophomore with 76, and then finished second with 64 in 2009. His five interceptions and 23 pass breakups during that time also show his ability to get a hand on the ball and bait quarterbacks into throwing to his side of the field (where he is usually on an island on the boundary side). He redshirted the 2007 season, however, after his suspension for being named in an academic fraud case. Lacking great size, Moore might struggle to handle bigger receivers at the next level. But his speed and exceptional change of direction ability make it conceivable that he jumps up some teams' boards into the third round like a similar player, Auburn's Jerraud Powers, did last April.

    Analysis
Read & React: Very quick to read runs or receiver screens, so much so that teams take advantage of that aggressiveness to suck him in on play action. Must improve his reading of routes and be more aware of double moves.

Man Coverage: Can play off his man or on the line, although he doesn't get a hand on his man immediately. Excellent speed to turn and run with receivers, whether down the sideline or trailing over the middle. Changes direction quickly, mirrors jerk routes extremely well. Could improve his contact with receivers down the field instead of relying on recovery speed.

Zone Coverage: Typically plays off in zone with his hips open inside. Does not backpedal a lot but has the flexibility to do so. Inconsistent handing off his man to get to underneath route.
Closing/Recovery: Straight-line speed allows him to recover quickly if beaten. Good closing speed to the ball, able to knock the ball away even when a couple of yards behind his man when the quarterback starts his delivery. Finds the ball in the air. Must be more consistent in his plant and drive so receivers cannot lose him on a quick move.

Run Support: Extremely active, attacks the line of scrimmage once sniffing the run. Despite his small stature, he has the upper-body strength to punch receiver in the chest when he sees run, then come off to grab ballcarrier. Wraps up in space when in zone. Ducks his head often, but somehow gets enough of the ballcarrier to slow or stop him.

Tackling: Lacks great strength, but is one of this draft class's more aggressive corners. Throws his body into tackles, wrapping up on the island with length and want-to. Likes to lower the shoulder, can put it on the ball to cause force fumbles. Will take incorrect angles to the ball when catches are made in front of him. Gives up on plays when another defender is in contact with a ballcarrier.

Intangibles: Strong leader in the secondary despite his youth, directs his teammates on the field. Aggressive player with physicality teams like at the position. No major character issues, although teams will ask about the academic issue that led to his suspension.

Josh Moore probably gets a pass just like Bennett did for the redshirt year. I would have liked to see better production out of D.J Moore in the last few games. I think Bowman may have been hurt and could still have some backup value.

dabears54, I like CB Ras-I Dowling, but I'm not sure he'll still be there in round 3 when we pick.

Who are some CBs you like for a late round 3 pick?

I see the Bears as having four big needs: o-line (OT and OG), DT, CB and WR. With the uncertainty of the CBA you can't "bank" on free agency. I see the Bears drafting two o-linemen and a DT with the first three picks. That leaves CB and WR for picks 4 and 5. All the best CBs, even one like Davon House, probably isn't there at the end of round 4.

I'd love for the Bears to sign Champ Bailey, but how much money will he want?

    Thoughts?

The latest news on the Champ Bailey front comes from the Denver Post who reports that following the reopening of contract talks earlier this week, and despite Coach John Fox's statements that he would like him back, Bailey's agent reports that Champ put his $1.6 million dollar house on the market yesterday as an indication that his playing days in Denver are over.

Bailey's agent has been quoted as saying that Champ want to play for an winning team now that he's entering into the final years of his career. The Broncos who are in a serious rebuilding mode which may takes several seasons to accomplish don't seem to fit that bill. Given these facts I'd say that it's 80%-90% certain that he'll be playing for someone else next season and there's no reason he can't trade Broncos blue and orange in for the Bears navy and burnt orange. If the team really wants him we meet his criteria as a winner with a future.

As for the money, who knows what it will take. The Broncos offered him $40 mil over 4 season last fall then pulled the offer off the table when Bailey didn't immediately jump at it. He'll be 33 come July but he's still playing at the level of a shut down corner and seldom if ever gives up the big play. To me he'd be the perfect compliment to Tillman for the two or three more seasons they both may have at the top of their game.

Think about it. To avoid Bailey QB's would have to start throwing to Tillman's side again and with his abilties to get both picks and strips we cause a defensive dilemna that OC's would have to account for. Couple that with an improved pass rush and better play at safety and the Bears can become as effective at defending the pass as they are the run. We've got some aging defensive stars who eventually need to be replaced but there's no reason those players can't play championship caliber football for another few years and that's where our window of opportunity lies. We can't afford to slip backwards for another three years like we did following the Super Bowl appearance and spending money on a big time defensive FA again like we did with Peppers will payoff and in my opinion help to prevent that.

I don't know the substance of his latest negotiations but I'd be willing to bet the Broncos both lightened and shortened their offer to him. Pat Bowlen is on a kick to reduce costs by casting aside vets in favor of younger players since the vets couldn't do anything to improve on back to back losing seasons. He's also paying off millions to fired coaches Shanahan and McDaniels in addtion to waht he had to pay in order to get a coach like Fox. I think that if the Bears were willing to make him and offer in the neighborhood of what the Broncos offered but maybe with more bonus $$$ tied to his continued health and performance they may just walk away with one of the top prizes of FA. Unlike Asomugha I think we can get Bailey for less than $10 mil a year.

I don't know about that. I don't know whether I want to risk purchasing a player through free agency who is that old. Bailey is an old man in football years, and who knows how much longer he's got gas left in the tank. Still, if he can be had for a reasonable amount, like say $6-7 million over three years, I see no reason why we couldn't invest in him.

Still, though, I would rather have Asomugha, provided that he doesn't resign with Oakland. Asomugha is the best in the league at what he does.
